So turns out descriptions have a character limit and I super exceeded it. Woo
"Go for the eyes next time, scratches won't stop a lethal hold." She whispered before the Kig kicked a last time and went limp in her arms. She quickly released him as to not cause any serious damage as she nodded to the others and quickly slung the small male over her shoulder and carried him the short distance to her groups hidden camp. Thankfully they had a good amount of rope as the Sect's troops were quickly bound up in a group and the Kig-Yar's beak roped shut as well as they alerted the overseeing Sangheili that they had a group for pick-up. Leaving some of her Unggoy behind to watch them Kael and Ado returned to perimeter guard to watch.
Their section remained free of Sect troops as the night rolled around and a stealth Phantom quickly arrived and left at their camp position, the now awake but silenced Sect soldiers on board, Kael and her group earning some points for their success but still no Sangheili yet. Her and Ado would take turns on watch and sleeping as they occasionally heard weapons discharging but it never lasted long - it seems that the convicts and mercenaries were doing pretty well.
But the more days past the better tactics and methods were used by the Sect, and slowly but surely Kael and Ado were starting to loose some of their own troops to their tactics, but those two always managed to just barely escape. Some of their finest moments included; Ado creating a disturbance for a two Sangheili team as Kael sprinted at them from the side and leapt to fly right in front of both of the, dud grenade held tightly in her hand as she smashed it into both of their heads as she sailed past for the knock out, Kael stealthily eliminating a Sect Murmillo and taking her place at the back of the party before pulling out a stun grenade and dropping it right in the middle of the group, Ado playing dead for a group of Kig-Yar who hooted that they would have easy points before Kael let go of a branch she was holding back and cracking all of them in the beaks. They occasionally broke some bones or gave bruises but they stuck to the no kill rule - unfortunately however they kept getting pushed further and further back until the two month training had nearly reached its half-way point. They got a message from the General to report back to the temple for a game changer, and once arrived the training took a very dark turn as the night was also coming in.
The General looked very different than he did when they both first saw him when they arrived, he seemed more eager, more angry...a look Kael knew all too well so she was already alert before he started to talk.
"Look at what we've done, the glorious Covenant Sect still hasn't reached us - we can easily fight back, win, take their ships and leave this place." Glancing at Ado Kael was horrified to see him looking pleased at this, but thankfully due to her helmet neither Sangheili caught her expression as the general continued. "Send the word out, starting today there is no more capture, we kill, we will kill them all; break their necks, strangle them, drown them in mud, do what has to be done for us to be able to push through them and leave this place."
They were dismissed after this, but Kael requested a moment, General, to discuss the new locations where it would be best to ambush the Sect for the best place to kill them. The door shut as Ado left to spread the new order, and Kael let the mask she had to wear fall away as she dropped into a combat stance and hissed at the General, finally able to let her anger out against the Sangheili.
"You will not be ruining my chances, I won't be betraying this Sect, draw your weapon or turn yourself in."
Kael knew the General wouldn't, but if there was any recording devices in this temple, which she highly suspected Til would have, it would sound better. The General of course laughed at her, she suspected that would happen to, as he started to say something about how the Sangheili wouldn't fall to blah blah blah. Kael only let him just start before she crouched down and sprang at him, wishing she still had her wrist blades at a time like this but her natural weapons would have to do. The weapons she was carrying wouldn't be enough to bring the larger alien down, but then against neither did anything he carried for her...except that Needle pistol, that could work. Impacting the Zealots chest Kael dug her claws into the collar of his chest armor and snapped her head forward, crashing right into his mandibles and making him stagger back, choking on his own words. But he wasn't knocked over yet as she brought back one hand and made a stab at his neck with her claws, but he was able to move aside enough to avoid the hit and only received a cut for it. Setting her feet on his waist to keep her position Kael kept hissing and growling as she waited for his move so she could strike when he was exposed, and soon the left hook came at her beak as she ducked down, resting her head against his chest armor, before pecking her beak up at his throat once again, a decent cut made it in this time as the Zealot roared in anger and swung his right hand into her side for a body blow. The air knocked out of her lungs Kael just managed to maintain her grip, but the General found a grip on her ankle as he jerked her hard to the side ad Kael soon found herself floating upside in mid air held by her left food. Looking down to see up at his bloody face and neck he was clearly fuming because of what she had tried, but as he once again opened his mouth Kael seized her chance and quickly reached out to snag the Needle Pistol off his thigh and aimed it down at his head. The General froze as Kael just smirked under her helmet and pulled the trigger - unlike the Sangheili not wasting time with idle threats or taunts.
With an ack she hit the ground and as quickly as possible got to her feet, just in time to see the Needle she had shot between his eyes to shatter and open a nice hole in his skull, but Kael shot twice more just to be sure before looting the spare ammo canisters before zipping around as the door opened, pistol raised, as Ado poked his head in and stared at her and the pool of purple rapidly forming under the general as Kael kept her sights settled squarely on his head.
"Close that door, do what you want with this fools plans but I will not think twice."
The message was clear and with a curse Ado shut the door and left Kael to her own devices as she quickly spotted a window that she could exit through. Taking a small backpack full of rations and as much spare ammo as she could Kael quickly squeezed through the window and dropped the twenty feet to the sand easily enough...now was just the matter of making it to Field Master Til while avoiding the Sect's troops, the soon to be murder driven prisoner and mercenary forces, and the massive distance itself.
Great...
She wouldn't make it back by thinking about it however and quickly set off at a fast jog toward the forest in the distance. She was fortunate that Ado seemed to be a fan of speeches too as she could barely hear what sounded like his voice drifting across the savannah toward her. Her best guess would be him first telling her former convict comrades that our glorious and brilliant leader was dead, murdered by a treacherous, vicious, cowardly T'vaoan. Followed by that he had a last wish and plan for all of us to escape, and would then go on from there. She picked up the pace when she heard a collective group roar from the temple, knowing that the directive to murder had been issued and she now had enemies on all sides of her. But at least the ones in front had been told not to kill, so far.
Kael had nearly reached the forest, huffing a little, when she picked up the tell tale quiet humm of a stealth phantom. Spotting a tight group of trees on the plains edge she sprinted the last distance and slid to be crouching against the tree, breathing deeply and slowly, as she tried to listen as her weapon was held loosely in her right hand. The humm got closer and then stopped moving. But Kael waited a bit longer before she heard quiet phomping on the ground - but still nothing on front of her. Stealth Sangheili then, starting to grip her weapon and prepare to leap before she took a moment to consider this. The convicts wouldn't have that kind of tech. So this was the Sect, or security, and both were good for telling them of the Convicts plans and possible get her in good steed to help - or worse for being so eager to betray her 'side'. Sink it.
Holstering her pistol she raised her hands to be just above her shoulders and slowly stood out, speaking out calmly and levelly as she stepped away from the tree.
"Kael Gel, former Murmillo and formally on the force that Opposed Til's Sect. But the convicts are planning a very dangerous scheme, I need to speak to Til Immediately." Staying where she was she roved her eyes around and sniffed quietly as she guessed that two stealth operators were around here, but in the night light she couldn't discern anything even with her night vision as she felt two hands grip her wrists and firmly pull them behind her back. For once Kael didn't resist as her pistol was also removed before the hands on her now bound wrists rested on her shoulder and guided her toward the quiet humming. She knew she was close when her feathers started to get blown back and soon she was being raised into the air and into the interior of the Phantom.
Closing her eyes so they could adjust to the comparatively bright lights inside she heard the cloaks dropping from the Sangheili and spoke up again before opening her eyes. "As I said, I need to speak to Til, the lives of all of his forces are in grave danger." It was only when she opened her eyes, immediately leaning her head back but keeping her position, that she found herself looking into the half blind face of the Field Master himself - not that Kael knew that.
"And who are you supposed to be?" The Sangheili gave a deep chuckle before moving back to stand back at his full height before replying, Kael glancing up and down him and around at the part of the phantom she could see from behind her helmet to notice a few key things; this Sangheili wore the golden armor of a Zealot, the two stealth operators were gone, unless this was one of them and the other was behind her, he held a sword as to be expected but also numerous other weapons that reminded Kael of the old woodcuts of Gel of the past, carrying so many blades that you could often only see their beak, and that the Phantom's interior had screens everywhere, but she wasn't able to get a good look at any of them before the Zealot spoke.
"Field Master Til Je'at Ra'ha 'Muramai," The Sangheili then bowed his head to her slightly as Kael visibly stiffened but bowed her head in return. Mentally flipping the switch in her head from murder to talk mode Kael she was glad she had been able to kill that General so she was able to relax now from the rage she had before. Bowing her own head in response she decided to get right to it then.
"Til, as you are likely aware the Sangheili General you had leading the force of Convicts and Mercenaries has decided that his force can win in a real fight against yours. He sent out the order for no more capture, no more knock out, instead to murder them all. However, for this treachery I killed him as is the punishment for the act," well...sans when Kael killed that Major before of course but best not to dwell on that as she was about to continue before Til raised a hand to stop her, then directed his other hand to one of the screens. Turning her head to look at the indicated screen she saw the interior of the Temple, in the room where the General's body was just being wrapped up by Ado and three other Sangheili as Til just nodded.
"An impressive fight Kael. While I appreciate your work and attempt to warn me I was aware of this plot and have already been preparing the Sect that hasn't been deployed for the now live fire training."
Kael nodded, glancing back at Til to see that he looked pretty smug at this as she turned her head around to look at what other screens were there whilst also considering her response. It was during this look that she noticed that Til and herself were alone in the ship, and she could see no shimmering air. Well...that was impressive that Til had made himself seem like two operators and made her more complacent because of that, the T'vaoans opinion of the Sangheili she had just met going up a few points as she finally looked back at him and smiled in return. "I wouldn't have trusted him to not try anything either, especially after what he did to get himself imprisoned. But you may know what they plan to do, but not where they will strike, or the locations where they moved their equipment so your Sect couldn't use the old bunkers, or where they have set up their traps that will not be being prepared with spikes."
The Sangheili chuckled again as Kael continued to stand straight before he offered her back her new Needle Pistol and turned to the cockpit. "You'll be needing that then if you wish to assist, that is if you are willing to hunt down your old comrades."
Kael just responded by reloading the pistol and charged it for the schkt sound of the Needles being ready at the top of the weapon as she holstered it, crossing her right arm across her chest and bowing. "Gladly, Master Til, I think you'll find my hunting skills to be to your liking."
It didn't take long for them to return, and immediately Kael was introduced to Rex, a male Champion and leader of the T'vaoan in Til's Sect. Kael had to admit he was quite the male specimen but there was murder on the agenda and that needed to be her focus. Til had done a look-through of her service record and was impressed at least a tiny bit and so, after a short meeting with Rex as Kael was eating and getting herself cleaned up, she was placed under the command of Rex as a Commando. Rex was quick to remind her that this was a temporary position, a test of sorts. But Kael just strapped her wrist blades back on and her new green helmet and told him not to worry his feathers about it - she would show what she was worth.
Til didn't allow the former convicts much time to set up as the battle was started that night, Kael near the front with her newly acquired Focus Rifle and her file of Majors as she communicated the likely ambush spots of the Convicts as she went. Because the convicts only have a few lethal weapons and most of them still had practice weapons the fully armed Sects progress was steady and always pushing forward. The sounds of Plasma fire echoed in that night as well as the smell of scorched wood. A few of the Sect fell to the determined assault, but only a few of those died from the injuries as the Sect's training up till this point made them effective at working together - Kael just bringing the wrath of the sun down on the Convicts as they tried to ambush and drop down on herself and her forces. To Til's credit he had sent a large broadcast message across the training grounds that any traitors would be slaughtered, no mercy - but if you fought to help the Sect against the betrayers there would be forgiveness, or just giving yourself up would save you life as well.
It did complicate things however as the Sect had to be on extra alert stations to double check the targets in the darkness to be sure if they had their hands displayed, were clutching weapons, and what direction they were pointing those weapons. Kael not trusting any of the ones that just gave themselves up and went through the precaution of knocking them out to be sure they couldn't stab her in the back as soon as she turned it. The Majors under her command were hesitant about her plan but didn't venture any concerns to her, although Rex was told as the dawn started to crest.
Called back to the Champion Kael dutifully bowed as Rex started to tell her bad birdy, just as a Sangheili that had given up was led past by two Unggoy. Upon passing behind Rex's back the Sangheili kicked one of the Unggoy in the head while ripping the needler out of the hands of the other, and started to move to point it at Rex. Glancing up as she her the first Unggoy shout out in pain Kael leapt forward, cupped her hand around the back of Rex's head in his mane, pulled him down so he was bending over, and swiftly unholstered her pistol and fired twice into the Sangheili's spread mandible face. The bigger alien collapsed backwards, on top of the Unggoy who he stole the weapon from who was trying to leap onto the bigger aliens back, as she helped Rex to stand up straight. She couldn't help herself from smirking as Rex looked as if he was barely holding back his temper, Kael patting the beak of his helmet and thankfully not drawing attention to the submissive position he had been in as she holstered her pistol.
"Sorry Cap'n, back to the task at hand then?" Rex just hissed a bit and quickly turned back toward his own forces to continue, Rex now tying up those that gave up but didn't wish to fight as Kael watched him go and nodded. That would be a fun challenge to make that one a good mate. But later if at all, still needed to clear out this place of traitors and then find those humans to slowly bleed them out.
She suspected Til had seen that but he wasn't able to be directly seen, not that that meant anything, as she continued to lead her group through the forest, the occasionally ambush swiftly dealt with as Kael was starting to feel the pull of tiredness. Thankfully Til called a halt to the Sect's progress when they cleared the forest and made it to the edge of the Savannah, the temple just able to be seen in the distance. But it was rest time. She took full advantage of this time to have as much sleep as she could before woken up in a few hours to start and head across the open plains.
She had told Til before she slept that the Convicts had cleared out where they had been hiding the weapons they stole. So lethal weapons and perhaps a few rifles would be pointed their way as they tried to cross the plains where there was a distinct lack of cover. Thankfully Til had the solution to this as several portable shield generators were brought through the forest by some of the convicts that surrendered and they were set up on small hovering balls so cover would be walking with them.
The heroic charge against the traitors was more of a slow saunter as they moved forward with their shields, occasionally shots tried to sneak past but the file or two behind each shield were able to stay relatively safe. The Sect continued to work together, the larger soldiers pushing and giving their shields supports while the smaller ones took potshots when they could. Due to their teamwork their losses were minor compared to the many twitching and pleading bodies of the traitors as they pressed ever onward, slowing down to execute the ones that fired back before returning to pressing forward. By the time they finally reached the Temple the forces of the convicts still hankering for blood had been reduced down to mostly Sangheili and a few Unggoy that had been convinced to stand a fight - the Kig-Yar and Jiralhanae that remained having fled out of the Temple to try and surrender and keep their lives.
Til seemed somewhat bored, or deep or thought, or perhaps sad when he ordered the last push. Telling his forces to apprehend the Sangheili who were leading this so they could be made examples of. Kael, along with Rex (who had gotten over his embarrassment and anger from earlier) and several Sangheili of the sect, moved in with weapons ready as they went from room to room, clearing out the Unggoy and wounding the Sangheili with precise shots to not kill them, yet. The teams clearing the temple soon stacked up outside the deepest room, where Kael had ended the General, and found it to be barred shut. Rex and Kael just nodded to each other as they passed the word back to get some explosives. The remaining Sect had surrounded the temple, the Kig-Yar and Jiralhanae apprehended as a box of plasma grenades were brought into the temple, Ooooh Kael was going to enjoy this. So rare to have a chance to destroy some old Sangheili ruins and not only that but getting rewarded and having permission to do it too. Rex and herself taking a claw full of grenades each, setting them around the doorway evenly, and then taking cover behind the near-by corner and setting one off.
It worked well enough with a doorway, however ugly and not the size of the original door, being opened into the room and the forces quickly sweeping in to find Ado and the three Sangheili that had wrapped up the General's body had already killed themselves.
"Typical." Kael muttered as they started to drag the bodies, including the General's, out to the Temples exterior where the Field Master was waiting for them. The Sangheili from the Temple bound into kneeling positions before the tall Sangheili as Til looked over and just nodded as the wrapped up General's body as well as Ado and the other Sangheili were laid beside the kneeling ones. Stepping back Kael stood with her hands clasped behind her back - waiting to see how Til would deal with this traitors.
The answer came soon enough as with a flick of his arm Til activated his energy sword, muttered something in Sangheili about the reward for all betrayers and heretics, and then swiftly moved down the line of kneeling Sangheili severing their heads from their shoulders as he went. It certainly sent a good message as he clipped his sword to his belt when finished and nodded at the already slain bodies as he gestures for the Sect, with their prisoners, to start heading back to the city. The General and his guard would be disemboweled and hung in the city, the prisoners marched past them before being sent back to the prisons they came from so they would know the reward for disobedience.
Kael didn't pay much attention to it though as she was busy discussing things with Rex - she had proven herself worthy of a spot in his Entourage, and would keep her green armor and rank and serve with him. Since it had worked out way better than Kael had expected; as she had gotten back into the Covenant and made two powerful allies in Rex and Til she was genuinely pleased for the first time in several cycles. With the armor and Focus Rifle now hers to keep she bowed to her new Champion and prepared to load up on a Covenant ship again so her campaign could continue.
- Commando; (2541-2542, age 38-39)
Compared to her very long time as a Murmillo Kael was a Commando a week, comparatively, if that. Traveling with Rex and occasionally Til to battleground after battleground. During her year serving under Rex she got over trying to make a fool of him, and a mate, and instead maintained a professional relationship with him. Helping him plan assaults and direct the Entourage to do maximum damage to the Human forces. After gaining his trust and likely friendship Rex helped her in return for finally finding out what type of ship had murdered Qesa, a type of stealth vessel called a Prowler that was used by the Humans secret brain Naval Intelligence. With this new info she always seeked out the black Uniforms so she could get some answers. But each time she got close another soldier would kill the Human or they would manage to slip away. But Kael wasn't worried, she now had a definite target to hunt, and through this one she would - one way or another - find the ones responsible for her little ones death.
She kept doing her job of directing the forces while Rex discussed the battlefield with the other leaders however, and when it was time for Rex to join in the combat she would stick by his side and make sure he was still alive when the operation was finished. To the male T'vaoan's credit he could hold his own, and even repaid the time she saved his life by saving hers from a rocket that she had not seen with a sprinting tackle out of the way.
She greatly enjoyed her new hologram toy, and took endless glee in making Humans panic and look one direction before the real her leapt atop them to show them her blades. Her efficiency and command skills were noticed by Til as the year neared its end. Well at least Rex who then passed it along to Til and too her great surprise one day she found the dull gold helmet of a Champion waiting at her bunk as they returned to the ship after a successful assassination mission. Rex just nodding and wishing her sharp blades and clear skies with a smile as Kael tapped the end of her beak to him with a bowed head and began to consider who she would fill her new unit with...
- Champion; (2544-2547, age 39-43(now))
With her new promotion, to the highest station a T'vaoan could receive, Kael returned home to an even larger celebration than the first time and this time she actually joined in with her clan in the drinking, singing, and dancing. But Mama Zaat seemed different the entire time the celebrations were going on, Kael noticing but determined to enjoy herself this time before another tragedy struck. She had a five before a ship would arrive to pick up her new force and so had time to catch up with family, send out word to get some fighters, and get to the bottom of her Mama's issue. With the day and a half party done Kael sent out word to the Alliance that she was building an Entourage, and any warrior worth the position would be welcome. Kael of course would be testing these applicants, but some rest would be good before hand, after Zaat was talked to.
Walking though the halls of the the Gel keep, with the sounds of congratulations and partying still ringing in her ears, Kael entered the Commodores chamber. As always the sound from outside ceased, and despite her achievements Kael couldn't help but a flash of her youth, worried about being called to her Ma's office take her over for a moment, before she shoved it from her mind. Crossing her arms across her chest she flicked her claws out as her wrist blades extended as she bowed, Champion helmet attached to her belt.
"Commodore Gel." Kael started, her Ma standing with her back to her as she looked out the window behind her at the training yard, some of the younger hatchlings doing their running today.
"Kael, do you remember what you promised me when you left?" Kael suspected this was going to come, but she was too close to give up now, and was in the best position she could be to achieve what she needed.
"That I would leave the Covenant and return here if I was wounded."
"And from your own reports you sent back to be you were wounded, fought a Demon no less, and you still remained in the Covenant for years and never came back until now."
"Because I had assumed you would have been able to move past Pa and Jat being killed. Or taken revenge on enough of the Sisterhood with our new alliance to allow me to do what I needed to do."
"...You ask me to get over them when you still haven't gotten over Qesa." Kael bristled at this but managed to keep her position as she replied, Zaat having turned around to face her now.
"Qesa'a murders have not been found and slowly butchered yet, we killed Iha's and Jet's murders ourselves and you have been able to slowly bleed the Sisterhood for your revenge. All I've been able to do is exterminate a few, a tiny amount, of Humans and the ones responsible from her death are still at large."
Zaat scoffed at her and shook her head before locking eyes with Kael. "Irregardless, you broke a promise you made to a Commodore and Matron."
"What are you going to do Ma? Kick me out of Gel? Kick out the best warrior you have and a symbol oh our might?" Kael asked, a bit of hurt in her voice as she patted the Champion helmet on her belt.
"No, but know that I am disappointed in you - despite your honorable intentions you could have explained them rather than just leaving in a huff." Kael hissed in response to this before Zaat continued. "Besides, Roh - you remember him don't you?" Kael's feathers rose some more at these jibes, as despite how long they had been separate Zaat, as a Mama, still knew what to say to really press her chicks buttons. "Your little male you left behind when you ran off to exact revenge on an enemy you didn't know? He's grown into quite the warrior himself, desperate to avoid being in your shadow all the time. Why just two days ago he led a raid on a Sisterhood ship, killed many by himself and planned for their escape to cut it off as well."
Kael's hands had closed into fists at this point, rage quickly building as Zaat smiled a bit and waved her off. "Go make your Entourage and continue the hunt, I'll keep you posted on Roh's progress as I'm sure you'll let me know how your search goes." Clamping her beak shut Kael stood up straight again and bowed before collapsing her wrist blades and backing out of the room.
"Commodore." Slamming the large doors shut Kael took a few deep breaths before leaving them. It didn't take her long to find her Second for the Entourage, a male named Tal who was not only a fantastic warrior but also subservient. Giving him the job of gathering the applicants and sending away the weak ones as she had a job to do.
She wasn't beyond rage to go out without sleep however, and after a six hour sleep gathered her weapons and left the Gel Keep in a small patrol boat just as dawn was breaking. She didn't return till the dawn of the next day, a lot of the applicants for her Entourage sad she wasn't there to evaluate them but of the one hundred and twenty that showed up thirty were immediately sent home packing as they had not proven themselves warriors in the eyes of their clan or Gel. The remaining ninety, a third of whom would be going home, turned to see Kael return from the docks with a Kig-Yar in elaborate looking clothing slung over her shoulder. She still had her wrist blades extended, the purple blood from the Kig-Yar's chest and throat staining the back of her armor and blades as she shoved past a few that wished to meet her and entered the Gel Keep. Kicking open the doors to her Ma's room she walked into the middle of the room and dropped the corpse on the ground before nodding at Zaat, who was sitting up in her nest looking equal parts scared and curious.
"Nea Tioa, one of the upper Lieutenants of the Spice Sisterhood, you tell 'lil Roh' that he'll have to do better to surpass me." Leaving the body on the floor Kael turned on her heel and walked back out to her awaiting forces and begun the selection process with her armor and blades still stained with purple blood. Over the course of the day she, Tal, and her now two additional Commandos Pela and Vesa - sister graduates of the Gel university, made the thirty who didn't make the grade wish they had never shown up. All of them limping away with bad bruising, cuts, or a few broken bones. The lucky sixty who had made it were rewarded with a feast for the newly made Entourage as they swore service to Kael over their food. The armor and selected weapons distributed on the fifth day so when the ship arrived they could load up quickly and head back to Covenant space. Kael sending a last message to her Mama before she left, and hasn't returned or talked with her since.
Since the selection process Kael's entourage has been through many missions, members being replaced as needed, either being killed or too wounded to fight in combat or by Kael herself. Notable recent additions include a new Murmillo, Tori Pek, and her Entourage have quickly gained a reputation in Til's Sect for very quick and efficient work. Kael still searching for the one black Uniform or computer record that would give her the names and locations of Qesa killers.
NPCs: Kael's personal file.
- Tal Gel - Male Commando; Efficient and submissive, just as Kael likes her underlings. Although he is a poor substitute for Rex Rex had his own Entourage to lead so Kael had to make due with a replacement. Wears the standard armor and helmet of a Commando and fights with a single wrist blade and a Dart Pistol, a carbine across his back.
- Pela Gel - Female Commando (Sister to Vesa); The quiet sister Pela prefers to let Vesa speak for her so she can spend more time looking for ways to impress Kael. Wears a lighter version of the Commando armor without the shoulder armor and lighter leg armor but a stock helmet so she can sprint faster as she is an incredible runner. Fights with twin wrist blades and a Needle Rifle.
- Vesa Gel - Female Commando (Sister to Pela); The talkative one that has made it her mission to be friends with all the Murmillo's, no matter how bloodthirsty they be. She believes that by knowing each other they will work better together and also make the downtime pass easier. One of the very few Gel that serve still using foot blades, with a R-5 across her back. Armor is stock standard as well as her helmet.
* Family;
- Mama (Alive, 64); Zaat Gel, Commodore of Gel. Kael and herself are currently not speaking to each other.
- Papa (Deceased at age 36); Iha Gel, Warrior of Gel, killed by the Spice Sisterhood.
- Twin brother (Deceased at age 15); Jat Gel, Warrior in training, killed by the Spice Sisterhood.
- Younger brothers (All three still alive, 39, 35, and 34); Pas, Vet, and Atl Gel. Currently a Guard for Eox's Commodore, a factory overseer in Gel, and a poet - they don't often speak of Atl in the family even if he a decent warrior.
- Younger Sister (Alive, 37); Weta Gel, Combat tutor in Gel, her family and Kael are very proud of her even if her social skills are lacking.
* Chicks;
- Qesa Gel (Deceased, would be 22, daughter of Kael and Tah)
- Roh Hul(Gel) (Alive, 17, Son of Kael and Uea (Now Commodore of Hul) Abandoned by Kael to Zaat's and Uea's care. (Character of BetaWolf.)

Kael Gel - T'vaoan Champion
2546 - Covenant assault force.
On Route to a packing up Human base.
It was missions like this that made Kael very glad to be the rank she was. Being sent in for a fast and brutal strike against a likely unaware foe was nice and all. But this Human base was supposed to contain some information that the Humans didn't want to Covenant to find. It could be many things; troop locations, the coordinates of their worlds, family names, secret projects, or anything like that. But there was always the possibility it would be an operational record from the secret ONI Humans, one that would reveal all she needed so she could hunt down the ones responsible. But that was a big if - so Kael would settle on just making some Humans suffer and take things they didn't want taken. Looking up from the small info pad as their Shadow transport kept trundling slowly along the dirt path. Her personal file would continue in this thing until they were closer to the location, her and Tel seated on the left side in the front as Vesa and Pela sat on the right hand side. At the back was a supply crate continuing their long-arms and four parts to a bomb that would were supposed to set when the base was cleared. Rolling her shoulders a little she went back to looking over her pad as she sat with her feet up on the seat, her feet resting in Tel's lap as he idly massaged and rubbed them, anything to please the Mistress. Before the Sangheili pilot beeped the light over their seats to let them know they were about to arrive. Socketing the pad back into the wall behind her Kael nodded and removed her feet and returned to a normal sitting position as she flicked out her blades to check their condition before collapsing them again and tugging on the magnetic holster for her pistol and ammo containers. The Shadow was beginning to slow so Kael did a last check of her bracer and helmet straps before nodding to Tel and calling out to Vesa and Pela.
"We all know the drill by now, strike hard and lethal and avoid hitting the computers. Cover our back with detection or traps and always have two exit strategies planned."
"Yes Champion!"
The Shadow settled on the ground with a quiet poomph and the four T'vaoan hopped out, quickly filing to the back to get their rifles or weapons they couldn't sit with before strapped a piece of the bomb to their backs. Kael holding her focus rifle in one hand as she looked over everyone to make sure they were set before tossing her rifle up and catching it in a ready position. The Sangheili let them know he would move the Shadow to be hidden by some trees and would hold until they were finished with the Mission, or dead. The file just nodded as they started at a slow run up toward the bases known location.
It didn't take them long to get within visual range where there could see a old fence, through the woodlands, around the perimeter of the three floored base as Kael held up her arm to call for a slow. She was leading of course as her Commands crouched down and fell in behind her. Kael holding up her second thumb and middle finger on her right hand before pointing to the right, Pela and Vesa breaking off and heading around the perimeter as Kael and Tel moved around the left hand side. Both teams searching for not only the entrance to this base but possible entry and exit points as well as to see how many Humans could be seen. Kael and Tel found the entrance first, four human Marines busy loading up one of their transports with the turret on the back, two of them out here, with what looked like weapons and fuel canisters. Apparently they were not expecting to come back here but there was no computer or data-pads that she could see, so more of them must be inside getting that stuff as a quiet beeping in her ear made her duck back down behind a shrub and tap a confirmation beep to hear the message.
"Several back entrances and two Humans without armor visible through the windows at consoles. Those are likely our scientists."
"Good, we have four out here as well as two of their transports. We will strike here first, move in fast and take those two down before they can destroy anything. Once done one of you get inside and make sure its clear. I'll get on the roof and go down from there and Tel will meet you from the front."
"Yes, Mistress."
Taking out her focus rifle from her back she flicked it active and smiled at the quiet humming as Tel nodded and removed his carbine and waited with his back against a tree as Kael nodded. "Don't shoot the fuel canisters, we may be able to use those later." Tel dutifully nodded as they both either stood up or learned out from cover and opened fire. The schct of Tel's rifle lost under the loud bwoom of Kael's focus rifle as she quickly swept it across the Humans she could easily hit, the large beam of energy quickly downing two as the others collapsed with holes in their heads and neck, unable to get into cover in time from their focused fire. Keeping her rifle up as the bodies stopped moving she heard the quiet shattering of glass from the other side of the base then nodded at Tel as they moved up quickly toward the entrance.
"Scientists down, moving in."
Clicking a confirmation message at her Kael slung her rifle over her back as she broke into a sprint as she headed toward the wall as Tel slung his rifle and flicked our his blade and pistol, heading for the window. Quickly scanning as she went Kael settled on the small arch over the doorway and jumped. The jump up to there was easy as she crouched low and sprang at full strneght upwards, just making it to the roofs edge as she grabbed on and pulled helmet up. Just in time to hear the shattering of more glass as Tel kicked and soared through his window.
"Roof clear," she reported as she scanned around with her pistol at.
"First floor rear clear."
"Second floor front clear."
Quickly finding a hatch on the roof Kael ripped it open and dropped down without the ladder as she listened carefully, no sound. But that didn't mean no enemies as she edged from door to door.
"Third floor middle clear."
"First floor middle clear."
"Second floor middle clear."
It quickly became apparent that the building was clear as the file completed their sweep, just under a minute from first shot to safe. Nice and efficient work. Holstering her pistol Kael hopped down the stairs to the second floor and nodded at Tel as he obediently fell into step behind her as she went down to the first floor and toward the exit to the front.
"Vesa and Pela check the scientists and computers for the data we need, Tel and myself will check the outside bodies and plan in case more humans show up. One of you always keep the forest outside the windows in sight."
"Yes, Mistr...Wait." They all stopped when the sound of a panel being ripped off the wall was heard followed by screaming. "We have a live one here, male." Well, that was a change in case as Kael had a moment of thought before nodding. "Restrain him, if he was being hidden until they were leaving he must be important. Keep him in that location until we are ready to leave."
"Yes, Mistress."
Nodding back to Tel they both went outside as their hostage was bound and gagged. making their way over to the two Human transports Kael started to drag the bodies over to them before grunting and hefting one into each of the front seats. Shifting their bodies around to make it as convincing as possible in case someone happened to show up. But then the Human she was currently picking up started to talk. Quickly looking back down at him she noticed it was the radio...Sink it all!
"We may have incoming, radio was hailed out here and we can't reply or destroy it. With an individual like that here they will immediately suspect the worse. Pela, get the Human to the second floor while Vesa checks the computers." Confirmation beep's responded as the file kept working.
Pela was ordered to stay with the hostage and search them thoroughly in case they tried something tricky as Vesa went as quick as she could downloading all the data possible with the use of a hacking algorithm from their non-Covenant fellows. Kael and Tel soon had all the Humans in the transports but looking off so other Humans would hopefully, when they arrived, go and check them as they unlocked the brakes and pushed the transports near each other. They left the fuel cans inside as Kael left one of her grenades on the ground under them, sighting from the ground to be sure she could hit it from the third floor or roof. It was after standing up that she waved for Tel to stop moving and carefully listened, the telltale sounds of the transports engines in the distance...
"Vesa, how long?"
"Too long Mistress, we can leave with what we ha."
"No, we will hold this base they so nicely left for us. Shut the doors and all of you get set up on the upper floors and roof, I'll hold the bottom floor."
"Aye Champion."
It was while they were preparing defenses, making sure doors were shut and broken windows at least partially covered up, that Kael got a good look of their human prisoner. Clearly terrified and not very fit it was unlikely that this one was part of their military or even their ONI. But he was being hidden away so was obviously important as he was shoved inside a closet on the third floor and a chair propped against it. Obvious where he was if the Humans who were coming found the room, but the file didn't intend to let them get this far as after a quick game plan they dispersed. One per floor and one of the roof as they waited by windows, watching the rapidly approaching dust cloud. Vesa had suggested they construct the bomb now but Kael had declined that, it being ready to fire ran the risk of going off if it was hit or struck, and that wouldn't be happening here. A small data-pad remained in the computer room resting on a desk as it downloaded the last parts of info.
Pela taking the roof facing the left forest, laying prone with her needle rifle beside her as well as her two grenades for when the signal was given. Tel taking the third floor with his rifle in hand, away from the Humans room in the middle, watching the back in case the vehicles ahead were just a ruse. Vesa taking the second floor with her R-5 resting against a window sill as she sat under it, taking a quick snack of jerky before the Humans arrived and watching the left side. Finally Kael was waiting by the slightly boarded up bottom floor window where Tel had jumped through, watching the main road as the small specks of movement started to approach.
"Keep your eyes peeled for a sneak attack, we did it to them but they will not be doing it to us." Confirmation beeps came back as the three warthogs came into visual range, two it seemed to be full of the normal green armored Humans but the back one contained the more dangerous black ones. There were some hand signals given out and the black truck and the back green one spread out along the sides of the base as the other stopped a good distance off from the front, two jumping out and one staying in the turret. Unfortunately for Kael their truck was outside the blast range of the trapped warthogs, but there was hope that the passengers would walk in range to check. Ducking back down as they looked over she keyed her radio and quietly whispered, picking up her rifle as she did so.
"How many do you all see, I have three on this side, green ones."
"Four black ones around the back, truck left behind. Approaching slowly."
"Dropped off one green left, moving quickly to door."
"Last three green right, one in turret, rest moving slowly."
"I'll engage, assume they will rush, fire after me." Clicks of understood responded back as Kael took a breath, mentally laid out the two transports out front in her mind and where she had left one of her grenades, and stood up in the window. Aecor seemed to be smiling on her as the two Humans that had been approaching were standing beside the trucks, seemingly horrified that their comrades were dead. No matter, they would join them in a firely blaze as the T'vaoan sighted in on the plasma grenade and swiftly cooked it with her laser beam until it exploded nearly instantly. The smaller grenade explosion setting off the fuel cells and engines of the two trucks and making a large explosion, the building shaking a little, as the slain Humans and scouts were vaporized. Kael quickly shifting her position to take aim at the gunner, as he opened fire screaming at the building itself, and knocked him off the turret with a beam to the upper chest.
The other Commandos reacted quickly, leaning over the roof or standing up in their windows to begin firing down at the Humans as Kael left the front and headed for the back in case Humans breached. The screams of the Humans drowned out by themselves firing back and windows breaking. Reaching the back where the computers were Kael noticed two of the black humans getting up after throwing themselves through the window, their two comrades dead in the grass outside. Letting loose a screech Kael unloaded on one of them with her rifle before dropping it and flicking her wrists to activate her wrist blades and shields as the other tried to raise his weapon to point at her. There were reports from her fellows in her ears but this Human was the priority right now. Crouching down she moved right at him, arms crossed so her smaller shields could offer maximum protection, as he opened fire on her with his burst weapon. But he was clearly panicking as the shots either missed or pinged off her sheilds before Kael was able to ram into him, lifting the Human up with her shoulder before throwing him back out the window. Hopping up on the window sill she perched there and smirked at him as he struggled to get up, rifle a ways off, as he drew out his magnum.
"This is my house now!" She hissed at him before jumping again from the broken window frame. Her T'vaoan leg muscles propelling her right at him as he fired, but unlike the Demon fight Kael had herself protected this time as the shot directed at her head was deflected harmless off her shield, and then she was on him. Barreling into his chest feet first Kael rode him down to the ground and just let her arms fall with gravity, changing their orientation slightly, until they sent into the Humans throat and weapon arm. Giving them a little jiggle she rested the tip of her helmeted beak right against his vision as he gurgled and kicked while Kael just hissed.
Standing back up when the deed was done she flicked off her blades and was delighted to report that the remainder of the Humans had been gunned down before they got in, or had been blown back by Vesa and her R-5 after she had jumped down the stairs. Wiping her blades clean Kael slung her rifle back over her shoulder as her Commandos joined her outside, Tel dragging the human out with him, and all of them threw their heads back and let out a loud saurian call - declaring their victory to the world.
Now that they were finished with their mission, the data logs gathered in addition to their Human hostage, Kael radioed in for their Sangheili pick up to head over. But there was just static. Growling a bit she tried a few more times as Pela and Vesa did some looting before just shrugging and tapping her radio.
"Any if you ever driven one of their turret trucks?"
"No."
"No."
"No, Mistress."
"Well the shadow may be compromised, so now we are going to have to learn, meet me in the computer room and we'll set up the bomb then we all get a little drivers ed I think." The Commandos nodded, Tel groaning a little at this plan but then saluting and checking to make sure that they had all their weapons and anything else needed before the next plans began.
Kael directed Pela and Vesa to get the still working Human transports after handing over their pieces of the bomb while Tel and herself worked on constructing it. They dragged the bound Human into the room and left him in the corner, sounding like he was quietly weeping as they worked. Despite the danger of what she was doing Kael couldn't help but chuckle as she heard the engines outside rev loudly as the female Commands tried to get to grips with the transports, likely hard from them to reach the pedals at all with their leg structure, but they could manage.
Nodding to Tel as the small bomb was completed Kael left it deactivated as she tapped the side of her helmet and called to them outside. "Hows the training coming along?"
"Good, we should be able to get out of here fine, the forest path is going to be tricky though since its our first go."
"Its fine, we can go slow, did you sabotage the third truck?"
"Aye, slashed its tires and shot up the engine some, started to smoke but thankfully didn't explode."
"Good, Tel will bring our prisoner out, get the trucks ready so we can set the bomb and go."
They replied to the affirmative as Tel bowed and marched the Human outside toward the trucks as Kael looked back at the fully constructed bomb and shook out her fingers a little before moving them towards the activation buttons to start the five minute timer. That was before her file outside started to cheep and squawk which made her look up...something was wrong. "What? What is it?"
"Ships! Human ships approaching!" Came the slightly panicked response, it must be a decent amount to be spooking Pela as Kael grunted and pressed down on the activation button. It was time to leave.
"Load up, get the Human strapped in a side seat, get in the turrets an strap in yourself, we are going to have to drive through the forest back toward the Covenant outpost." Standing up as the bomb began to tick down Kael moved out toward the waiting transports as she continued. "We're too far for my radio to reach the Covenant base, we are going to have to try to make it all the way." Seeing Tel shoved the Human into the passenger seat before using the seatbelt to tightly hold him in there. Pela taking the drivers seat of the transport with the human in it as Vesa hopped up into the gunners seat. Tel nodding at Kael as he hopped in the drivers seat of the second transport, leaving the turret for Kael. Glancing at the small mission clock on her HUD Kael could see they had four minutes left as she clambered up into the back and strapped her chest armor to the turret. Setting her feet apart she practiced turning it a few times before nodding and motioning forward. "Lets go, hopefully we wont have to race them." Kael said as he looked back, the aircraft getting closer ad closer as it looked like transport ships and a few of their small one pilot hover fighters...this could get ugly fast.
The file started off gingerly at first as they were still getting used to these vehicles and their controls as they started on the closest forest path that would leave them back toward the Covenant zone. Thankfully their speed steadily increased as they sped down the dirt road. Kael and Vesa facing backwards as they waited for the aircraft to catch up to them. All of them knowing it was only a matter of time as their transports could only go so fast compared to the flying Humans. Kael just hoped that they wanted the captive they had and therefore wouldn't fire, but then again that would only save Pela and Vesa as they were the ones who had the Human with them. Calling out of the sound of the engine, thankful she had her helmet on from all the dust the front car was kicking up, she spoke out to Tel. "The Humans may see us as none important as we don't have the hostage, if that's the case cut into the forest."
"Yes, mistress!" He called back as Kael radioed the other two and told them to keep going of herself and Tel separated from them, just head back to the Covenant base as fast as they could. They replied that they would as two of their single pilot small craft were spotted closing in on them. Squaring her legs to make sure she was stable, as much as she could be on the bumpy dirt road, Kael and Vesa opened fire on the craft once they were within range and the Humans opened fire on them in return. As Kael had expected they were aiming mostly at her and Tel as she squawked for him to break, Tel jerking the wheel and driving them into the forest.
At this point Kael just had to tightly grip the turret as the transport jumped and shook much worse in the forest as she tried to keep her beak from slamming against it. Keying her radio she started to give a shaky cry to the Covenant if they could be heard that it was her file, info and Human captive secured but currently chased by aircraft, immediate assistance needed. As she started to repeat the message a second time Tel, being a male and therefore useless at driving, tried to turn to avoid a root and ended up tipping the transport over onto its side, the hard jerk against her neck and chest as she was still strapped in making Kael momentarily black out.
She came to to see her feet being dragged across some moss and green armored claws around her chest as Tel was apparently dragging her somewhere, the back wheels of the truck still spinning as he hissed that he had pulled her from the crash and that the human transports were still on their way, Kael pushing the thought of Tels joy of pulling her out from her mind as she got to her feet and retrieved her rifle. No time for that now. They were likely being hunted now as she hissed at Tel to prepare, they would go on foot them. Both taking out their rifles Kael did a quickly check for anything broken but besides a strain in her neck she was fine, fine enough to move and shoot as they started off.
The sounds of engines, aircraft ones, soon came overhead as they passed overhead above the trees. It was to risky to try and contact Pela and Vesa to see if they had made it or were dead with Humans so close so they had to just go on faith. Faith...skill would get them out of this, skill and alertness not some hope that a greater being was looking out for them. Dropping down to the ground as a transport aircraft flew over Tel did as well. it was while they were lying prone that Kael had no idea what direction she needed to go anymore, the fall had damaged her helmet and her compass as well as the BattleNet uplink were both not response. At least it would mean the Humans couldn't track them with an outbound signal. But now they were trying to run through a forest, possibly with Humans in it, blind. "Tel," she said simply, keeping her eyes roving around.
"Yes, Mistress?"
"We now have no compass or direction, and enemy all around. We can either pick a direction and hope, or hold out and hope the others made it."
"We should go, waiting to be found isn't our way - Mistress."
Kael smiled as she turned her head back and nodding at him. "There's a good Gel, come on, keep low so we can try to minimize our chance of an altercation. Don't need the entire force after us." Standing back up Kael slung her rifle and took out her pistol as she jogged off, crouched low with Tel right behind her as they picked a direction, away from the Covenant base, and went.
After a good bit of moving it was soon apparent that the Humans were just flying over the forest and not actively sending people in to search for them. Smart on their part as in these close quarters the T'vaoan would prove very elusive and deadly. They must have assumed that Tel and herself had some of that clearly super important info if they were still looking for them. The edge of the forest starting to be seen as she signaled Tel to take cover and put her back to a tree herself. Peaking out from the tree Kael saw what she had assumed the humans would be doing, standing there with vehicles and weapons waiting for them. Whatever direction there were facing she assumed that Humans were waiting around or had eyes on the rest of the forest so they could be gunned down or caught when they tried to leave...Not looking so good for them as Tel quietly asked what they were going to do, Kael picking up on the fear in it but for once she wouldn't reprimand him for it. It looked like they had an entire legion outside complete with vehicles waiting for them. Taking a breath she snapped her head to Tel and hissed a bit before nodding back into the jungle.
"We set up, they will have to come in to get us and we will make their remaining life hell!" But before she could put her plan into motion more engines sound start, this time however it was the high pitched whine of plasma engines. Ducking down she was gleeful to see her fellow Covenants as Banshees and Phantoms were seen arriving in the dusk light. Her radio as well as Tels lighting up with the voice of Vesa and Kael had never been happier to hear it. They had made it far enough to get support and the main assault was beginning, but the Sect had decided to get her out first - how touching. Perhaps all her comrades weren't useless after all as she let out a long breath and lightly hugged Tel. Smirking at his stunned silence as he stood there she returned to watching the Humans scatter as the Covenant arrived.

* Family;
- Mama (Alive, 64); Zaat Gel, Commodore of Gel. Kael and herself are currently not speaking to each other.
- Papa (Deceased at age 36); Iha Gel, Warrior of Gel, killed by the Spice Sisterhood.

* Chicks;
