Alex Just is a possum space dock mechanic, keeping spacers ships running smoothly and saving up for his own one day. Zee, the kobold, got tangled up in Alex's life when she broke into his quarters one night to try and get access to his food printer. Having pity on the poor and quite malnourished reptile, he let her stick around in exchange for being his assistant at the docks. This worked out well, since Zee is smaller and can fit in tighter places Alex can't. The two eventually got together romantically, hoping one day to be able to set out to the stars themselves.
