After looking at this you'll be none the wiser.
I tried. I failed.
Though recently I did come up with the idea that shadows are an essential part of Frond, and that he can store some of his body mass into the shadows he casts. Which would help with managing the stuff he's eaten. And if he happens to eat something as big as a person, it wouldn't always need to be fatal since he could shift it away from his "main" body... And maybe let some people go. Others he'd probably digest... >__>;
He can also use shadows for warping from one point to another but uh... that would mean his clothes would have to be merged to his body (which isn't possible if it isn't dark enough). Whoops.
Being able to manipulate the objects he's eaten is already obvious, I hope.
SO YAY. At least I figured something out?
Also those random swirls and fractals have nothing to do with Frond. they're just decoration.

You know, I can draw all right, but I don't seem to have that direct line to nightmare country which you seem to possess. (to my nightmares, if not yours.) I'm writing a story and there's a thing in it I can't seem to get on paper, I think you would bring that special something. I need to scrape up some dough to buy a proper commission.
I imagine this guy of yours is like the equivalent of a face smashed against the glass for a four dimensional being. We only see the surface of him, the rest is twisted off into incomprehensible other dimensions.

Thank you, I'm flattered. I'll need to figure out methods of payment first (a lot of people use Paypal but I'm skeptical about it) and all that messy business...
But; I also have trouble trying to illustrate what I can't put down in words, and vice versa. Such as this demon concept in which the creatures are supersentient, and consist of everything that fits within the human comprehension and more powerful demons even beyond that (trying to interact with those would definitely end in a sensory overload). I can't imagine any good way to draw them that isn't overly complicated (except maybe by going completely abstract, lol).
And... that's actually a fitting description of him! You definitely have a way with words. XD And yeah... his visible body is barely comprehensible on its own (lol amorphous creature taken a barely human-like form, yet he manages to convince people)... and then the rest of his body is in the... shadows. (I refrain from using the term "shadow realm" since it only makes me think of Yu-Gi-Oh >:T)

Well, there's always the 'art trade'.
This guy here, though. It reminds me of the novels flatland and sphereland, which deal with that to a large extent - creatures living ina two dimensional realm meet a three dimensional creature, and likewise meet one dimensional creatures... None of them can comprehend the next state up, seeing only a 'slice'.
