.:Helvenon Species Sheet:.
Helvenon
Draconequus Infernum
Range: Northwestern Africa, southern Europe, east to Western China and as far south as India.
Helvenon groups are called 'battalions' or 'herds.' Male Helvenon are called 'steeds' and females are called 'mares.' Helvenon young are called 'cubs,' and females can have litters of up to five, usually having two or three at a time.
Appearance: Helvenon are massive reptiles with thick hides, short coarse manes, six legs, and massive wings that allow for gliding over long distances. All Helvenon have a single curved horn that protrudes from their skull, and is bioluminescent. Male Helvenon have larger horns than females, though females have more tail blades than the males. Helvenon's hides be red, black, gray, or white, and all have glowing bellies thanks to a naturally-ocurring type of napalm that forms in their guts. This allows the Helvenon to 'spit' fire, similar to a spitting cobra and the Helvenon use this as a defense mechanism.
Helvenon can have either stripes or spots, and very rarely lack markings.
The Helvenon colors are: Red (Arean), Black (Limok), Gray (Morean),and White (Kladem)
Behavior: These apex predators are highly aggressive, social creatures. They live in family groups of up to fifteen members, with the alpha pair leading the group. Because of their size Helvenon often hunt giraffes, rhinos, crocodiles, and sometimes even elephants.
Being extremely territorial, Helvenon view the presence of any other predator as a threat and rarely back down from a fight. For reasons unknown however, Helvenon are fairly complacent toward the presence of humans, even being domesticated in some places. It's believed that their sense of 'family' extends to other species as well, including humans.
Despite their highly aggressive nature, Helvenon have been observed nursing and caring for sick and injured young animals as if they were the Helvenon's own. The reason for this behavior is unknown, but it is believed that the Helvenon are far more intelligent than most quadrupeds.
Other:
The term 'Helvenon' is a pun, being a mashup of the Finnish words for 'Hell' and 'horse.'
Helvenon are not technically dragons, but are related to dragons. The relation between dragons and Helvenon is similar to the relation between apes and lemurs. Both are technically dragons, but are vastly different from one another.
Helvenon bear live young, and the herd all takes part in protecting them from outside threats.

Finally got around to making a species sheet for my Helvenon beasties!
I adopted their initial design from UnravelDragfox and I turned it into a species. I watermarked the individual drawings because I really like these guys and I really don't want to see them stolen.
I'll probably use this as my watermark from here on out too.
