Some fan-art for the first time in, oh, 3 years maybe? I redesigned my Transformers Persona, Gama, after looking through some old pictures of him. I had designs from 4 different show styles (G1, Animated, Prime and Beast Wars) but each one was inconsistent in some way: his robot form was either over-complicated or overly simple, and as a consequence his alt-mode was poorly thought-out or didn't exist at all. So I took a few features from each of the 4 designs and rounded them up into something more comfortable, and for once he has a pennant alt-mode now!

The helmet design is from the Prime version, his arms (and legs, not in this picture) are from Animated, the chest and shoulders are based on the Beast Wars version, and lastly the colour layout and back spines are based on his G1 design (more narrow and pointy).

I decided to make Gama turn into a weird spikey Triceratops, like in the Age of Extinction transformers movie, and since Trikes are more likely omnivores than pure herbivores like we first thought, it makes it more suitable to him. The crest of the trike turns into his shoulder guards and covers a portion of his back neck. The primary horns fold back into his large bike spikes whilst the nose-horn is hidden inside the trike head. The trike arms and legs are his own and only get shorter in the transformation. His tail is split and rests on the outer side of the legs.

Gama has poor vision and conditions based on my own astigmatism and other ailments, being unable to see very well from a distance, his left eye and hearing receiver are damaged (but he is not blind or deaf) which causes him to suffer from vertigo should he move his head too quickly. Gama has a sense of smell that works when it feels like it, though most of the time it does not work at all.

In previous versions Gama was solar-powered but his re-design has made this feature too difficult to integrate as there is not enough space for solar panels. Instead, I took a feature from his "Bayverse" version and made him run on Nuclear Energy to generate his own Energy. This was originally an ability that was always active, but I believe it made him susceptible to being overpowered. So instead of being fully powered all the time by Nuclear Energy without consequence, Gama is only able to sustain his Energy via Nuclear power if he does not engage in combat. He can use up his nuclear energy faster by using the energy directly in his guns, however, if his energy drops to critical levels he will have to rely on other sources of Energy to kickstart his generator, or if it rises too high he can enter a Meltdown state, in effect making him into a potential nuclear bomb (which will kill him and any biological life near him). Gama can kickstart his generators or top them up with a variety of sources, such as plutonium or his preferred method of bio-mass harvesting. He is not able to directly receive Energon from outside his own body as this would make his energy levels too high, in a sense he is Energon-Intolerant! I'm not allergic to anything but pollen, so this is just a feature of the character I gave him rather than directly from me.

Before he was 100% male, but I changed that because he is no longer just a fan-character to me; he is my Transformers Persona. Gama was assigned female identity at manufacturing, but self-identifies as male and changed his appearance to match his identity. Some anatomical characteristics remain from his previous life that he was unable to change himself.
