you pretty much give a credit card/ account number and how much you wnat to pledge...
at the end of the kickstarter deadline, that ammount will be taken from the account you link and given to the creator....
and you can change how you are ready to give until the very end of the Kickstarter campaign

Patreon came after and it was pretty much evolving Kickstarter by giving it a "subscription aspect"...
In Kickstarter, you donate once and only once by project... and but until the end, you can choose how much along the way...
the game isn't out yet; it will be released around june 2020 accourding the the kickstarter... but if you payed the kickstarter, you can have it as soon as it's released...
