Meet my kenku druid. He currently lives in the sewers of a city with a colony of rats. During the day he spies on the people of the city from the storm drains. At night he sneaks into houses and heals people of minor ailments before taking something from their house as "payment" for his services.

If you ask him his name he will respond by mimicking the squeaks of rats, so people just call him "Rat". However, his name was not always rat. Whenever he sees a new group of animals that catches his attention he will shift forms into one and go join them. When he returns he will have adopted the noise the new animal makes as his new name.

The wolf hat was "payment" from someone he healed of some minor scrapes they got while hunting. He uses it to try and intimidate people who venture into the sewers so they will leave and not disturb his rat friends. He does this by hunching over and mimicking growling noises.
