Call to Adventure! - [NES Chiptune]
🦊 Squeezy the Red Fox here! 🦊
Been a little while, but I finally got a new chiptune finished recently. Went back to straight NES for this one. This short piece was inspired by a D&D campaign that I joined with some friends. Never played any D&D before so it is a new adventure for me to get into character and try out the role playing thing. So far so good... But I could also use it as a lame excuse to be inspired to write something!
Since the campaign is based in the Legend of Zelda lore, I tried to give a regal and march-y sound. Zelda’s got castles, knights, swords, princesses, and all that stuff. Kind of medieval I suppose. O_o So there is extensive use of snare rolls and triplets throughout the tune. I did incorporate the LOZ intro into it, but after that it is all original. It just seemed fitting O_o.
Granted the tune is only 90 seconds, I thought of it in five distinct parts so it tells a bit of a story. Kinda of like the background tune during a narration or opening scene in an NES title. I call these parts: The Call, The Order, Deliberation, Preparation, and Adventure! Since that is what music is supposed to do, tell a story.
I hope you enjoy! Thanks!
