That really depends on how much mask work, or retouching, you do. Personally, use the tablet to airbrush out imperfections in the shots...its a heck of a lot easier to do with pressure sensitive brushes than it is with a mouse. Other than that...using it to edit layer masks is the other big key to having it.
Other than that...it really depends on you. I'd suggest getting a cheap(er) tablet to start with, see if you actually use it and like it...then later on dropping the money for a quality tablet. Have to see if it has its place in your workflow, first. *^^*~

Yea, that's kind of what I'm thinking too. A basic Intuous first or something. I understand that the dimensions of the tablet are "stretched" over the full monitors pixel dimensions, thus if you have a small tablet, a small movement shows a greater trace along the screen itself (thus a loss of accuracy or a need to zoom in). If that's the case, it would behoove me to get a larger one at least.
