It almost looks like he went from teen to adult
bottom being the youngest going "Heck yeaf, i got hons, now I'mma kick your @$$"
then just looks like he's trying to figure out how he wants his head to look and settles on letting his horns grow out.
This was the first thing my mind came up with upon seeing these iterations and I don't know why. ;v;
