Trixie plunged down the dragon's mouth and into his throat. In a few horrifying seconds, she was down his neck and into his gizzard.
“I-I'm still alive?”
“Oh yes, my little dear, all the better to savor your flavor as you enjoy your fate! You see, my little treat, I am a drempath. I can feed off your emotions as well as feel them. You are just filled to the brim with tastiness! Your pride, anger, bitterness, greed, hatred, and grief will keep me full for a long, long time!” The dragon leaped int the air, spreading his great wings. “Ah, well. Time to head home. It is always good to nap after a meal!”
“No, no! It cannot end like this!”
“Oh, but it will end, although not here, perhaps in a few days, weeks, months, even years at my other end! Ha, ha, ha!”
Emotions of pain, sorrow, loneliness and shame came over Trixie. More powerful than she had ever felt before. A scroll in her pack fell out she read it in the light of her dimly glowing horn. Something in her snapped. She understood. “You are nothing but a big blow hard and a bully!”
“Hee, hee, sticks and stones my little tasty... BURRRRRRP!” The dragon blinked. Suddenly, he felt very bloated and a little gassy. “Oh, begging your pardon, that wasn't supposed to BARRRRRRRRRP!”
Now he began to feel distinctly lightheaded. FERRRRRT! “What, are you doing in there, I demand you stop this at once! I mean, this is just being ignorrrRRRRAP!”
The dragon glided down into a clearing to try to get himself straight. He felt thick-headed now and his body felt more and more sluggish. “What is going on, why am I? Urgh, what is happening to me?”
It was now the dragon's turn to watch in horror as his body changed before his eyes. Scales and claws became smooth and rubbery. Sharpness and hardness faded into softness and squishiness. His body changed from roundness to rather squarish. His neck shrank and his jaw dropped open. Finally, it was all he could do to move his eyes!
