Nobody really, for these I just doodle random shapes and silhouettes in black and then add as many maws eyes and limbs as I can fit and tada XD And I test random brushes so I draw some blobs and then try to make it into a creature, it's usually super random (well except for the commissions because I work with keywords for these). I'm glad you like them though!
