Charles was a flash git. Took a silver bathtub around with him, if I recall, along with an Imperial crown (he was always sure that the Holy Roman Emperor would make him his heir, but the Emperor kept a step ahead of him).

Ironically, Charles’s bloodline would eventually end up on the Imperial throne in the person of his great-grandson, the Holy Roman Emperor Karl V (a.k.a. King Carlos I of Spain).
