HEAD
The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the head of the costume. If you are reviewing only a set of ears, your answers would also go in this section.Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear this piece of your costume.
On it's own, the head is rather large. Both inside and out. Per my request, I asked that there be enough room for me to suit with my glasses, though I clarified that the measurments I sent in were already made with my glasses in mind, and that no further modifications would need to be made. Despite this, the head doesnt fit very well at all. While I do indeed have room for my glasses, I seemingly have room for another pair or two with how wobbly it fits. I fear shaking my head or letting it hang too low so that my head might fall off.
Ventilation is extremely good. There are spots for ventilation in the eyes, mouth, and ears, which are well hidden by the long cheek fluff. Inside of the head is lined with a sweat-absorptive lycra material. The mouth is able to open very well so that I can fit a water bottle in for drinking.
Vision is about good as you can get for a head that features follow-me-eyes with plastic cups for the eyewhites. That being said, the blind spot really isn't that bad compared to other heads I've worn.
Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume piece looks from the outside.
The head matches the description and reference sheet of my character down to a T. The freckles are hand-sewn and asymmetrical per my request, matching her ref's markings perfectly. Her ears are rather tall, which is appropriate for the character's species choice, and the piercings are in the correct places on both her eyebrow and ear. The shaving is smooth all over the head, though the seams near the muzzle can be noticeable if it's been a while since she's had a good brushing.
In terms if proportioning, the outside of the head is also rather large, though seeing as how the body proportions are also rather large and exaggerated , this doesn't bother me. Though it may bother someone who would intend on wearing the head as just a partial.
One rather big issue I have with the head popped up after I gave the suit it's first "bath". I made a homemade scented disinfectant spray with very dilluted isopropyl alcohol and fragrance oil, and used a damp rag along with this spray to clean the head. With every wipe around the mouth region, I found that a black ink substance was smearing and staining the area around the mouth. It didnt take long to realize that this was permanent marker that had been used as a sort of a mock-up "airbrush" around the edge of the mouth's "smile". Now, I asked for no sort of airbrushing, nor was it discussed that there was going to be any, especially not so unprofessionally with permanent marker. I used a small amount of pure isopropyl alcohol to clean it off best I could, but there are very small hint of there being marker along the edges of the mouth and part of one of her eyelashes.
BODY
The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the body of the costume.
If you are reviewing armsleeves or legs/pants that are seperate from a bodysuit, your answers would also go in this section.
(Appendages, such as hands, feet, tails, etc., are discussed later.) Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear this piece of your costume.
The padding, which is stuffed polyfil pillows made from lycra, fits well and snug, and is pretty easy to walk in despite being rather thick. The only two issues I seem to have from time to time is the calf padding in the back occasionally slumping off to the side of my leg with movement, but that is nothing that can't be fixed with extra stuffing. The other issue is several popped seams within the stuffing itself, most likely from rushed sewing.
There doesn't seem to be any sense of great airflow from the suit- it feels rather stuffy only a few minutes after I put it on.

Upon first unboxing her I did a quick suit up to see if I noticed anything right away that was off. Thankfully, she had no surface problems. She fit perfectly, with the dropped crotch I asked for and all.
Due to me being rather short and stout in bodily proportions, I feared there being an issue with wearing the body and possibly stretching or ripping anything. Once again, there was no issue whatsoever with the body in that aspect. The only issue one could spot from the surface is the zipper's seams coming ever so slightly undone, leaving the black threading which was used to sew it in visible along with a small hole which is able to fit a single thin finger. Nothing that couldn't be quickly sewn back into place.
The quality of the sewing is by far one of my favorite aspects- every spot and freckle on both the body and head is hand-sewn. I find that incredibly impressive, overall.
HANDS AND FEET
The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the hands and feet of the costume.Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear these pieces of your costume.
The hands are unlined per my request, though I was under the impression that the feet were to be lined, and sadly they were not. Still, being built around a pair of sneakers I sent in, the feet fit perfectly as they should. The hands feel somewhat loose, despite me sending in a trace of my hand for a sizing reference. Since the hands are stuffed and puffy, grabbing things isn't the easiest, but I don't mind that!

The puffy paws and cute indoor feet bottoms are one of my favorite things about the suit as a whole- they're so incredibly soft and toony. I wish the feetpaw's ankles were a bit better shaved, since there's such a drastic difference from the feet to the ankles in terms of fur length. The handpaws are similar, but it simply looks a bit better with them versus the feet. The fingers on the handpaws, as well as the feet's bottoms and toes were made with beaver/seal fur, which is known for being increbily soft and plush- this, I feel, helps to add to the soft look of the character, overall, and was a good choice on the maker's end.
TAILS
The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the tail(s) of the costume.Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear these pieces of your costume.
The tail measures at 5 feet in length, and is attached to the body via multiple double blanket stitches. The tail is heavy and drags, but that is to be expected of a tail with such mass. Despite how the tail drags and weighs me down in suit, it's not too much of a hassle when I'm suiting around, really. Sometimes it can be a tripping hazard for other suiters, but in terms of me wearing it, I've had no issues at all.
Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume pieces look from the outside.
The tail was made from a type of fur known as Gorilla fur, which is known to knot and tangle easily, and is rather thin. While I understand that the maker chose it due to the length of it's pile, I wish she would've just gone with Lux shag or a fur that doesn't feel as cheap. As for color accuracy, the type of fur used is slightly darker than the body's base color. Otherwise the markings (the white tail tip) matches her reference sheet perfectly.
OVERALL SATISFACTION
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with the overall buying experience, including your interactions with the maker and the resulting final product. How well does everything fit together and match up?
The suit as a whole unit looks and works very well. Any sort of minor seam issue was able to be quickly sewn back myself, though there were quite a few. I just wish a few things fit better, as I went out of my way to provide exact measurements for everything and figured that would bring cause for no sort of issue.
How easy was it to initially contact the maker for a quote?
Very easy- Fursuit maker MessyMonsterMutts on Furry Amino approached me with an offer for a fullsuit commission slot after I posted a public inquiry for open makers.
How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take the maker to get back to you?
Sometimes she would answer to me within a matter of seconds, but sometimes she would leave me on read for days at a time with no explanation. We initially made contact over on Furry Amino, but later switched to Skype, and ultimately telegram.
How satisfied are you with the professionalism and customer service and of the maker?
The maker, at the time of me commissioning her, was only 16, so I can understand that I can't expect to get a lot of professionalism out of her, but she left me on read so many times, promised updates when ETAs were mere weeks away, lied about how much she had completed numerous times... overall she was just very unprofessional. I have been contacted by other commissioners of theirs recently asking how long my wait was, stating concern after they had paid her, and then proceeded to be ignored for months at a time. As it still stands, they appear to have "gone dark" on the web for about 8 months now, with several clients waiting on their queue with no contact from them whatsoever. She has posted maybe 3 times to her social media since then, all pertaining to her attending a convention, or a personal project, but nothing on her commissions work.
How satisfied are you with how long your project took to complete?
Due to being second in the queue, a small wait was to be expected, though at the time, the maker's commission information page said a fullsuit could have a quick turnaround time of a mere 2-4 months (this page has since been edited :/ ). This made me believe (along with the maker's confidence in the previously discussed deadline) that both the suit ahead of mine, as well as Wolfy, could be complete in time for the convention. The maker had made little to no progress on the suit ahead of mine in the queue, and had only finished the head of the commissioner's fullsuit commission by the time my loose deadline had rolled around. The maker apologized, and instead aimed to have Wolfy complete by the mid fall of that year (2017). Throghout this time I was continually promised WIP shots for completed items that had not been completed, and progress on aspects not yet started.
The commissioner in the queue ahead of me had then expressed needing their suit done before a fall convention briefly ahead of the one I intended to attend that fall, and with the maker still not having made too much progress on their suit, and still not having even started mine, rushed the suit of the client ahead of me, completing it within 2-3 days and shipping it out with one day delivery. Wolfy was to be started shortly after the fall convention I intended on attending, missing yet another deadline.
The end of 2017 was coming up and still no progress has been made on Wolfy. The client ahead of me had sent back their suit demanding refurbishments and repairs, which were prioritized ahead of my commission. It wasn't until January of 2018 when Wolfy began to take shape-first as a foam headbase, which wouldn't be furred for a little over a month.
I expressed upset with my maker in the early to mid spring of that year (2018), being polite but honest in my disappointment for a lack of professionalism and deadlines being missed. I expressed that I had one final "deadline" I would like to have met, otherwise I would appreciate some form of compensation. It was after this that I noticed she altered her TOS page, stating "I don't do refunds/deadlines" (how convenient). After this, immense and rather fast progress was made on Wolfy. Her tail, feet, hands, and body were all ready and complete by June 22nd. She was shipped out with basic flat rate shipping, which according to the maker cost them almost $200 dollars. I was only able to pay $80 of this, as it was not previously discussed that I would have to pay shipping, and the rest is being taken care of via "payments" with art.
Are you happy with the product you received?
Overall, I am happy with my product, just not how and when I received it. I suppose the experience is where the cheap price comes in for such a typically expensive product.
Describe your overall experience with this maker.
"Would you recommend MessyMonsterMutts as a fursuit maker?"
- I really want to say yes, given the overall quality of their work for their age, but their unprofessionalism gives me no choice but to ward off potential buyers until she has matured/fixed her work ethic. She owes several people overdue products, or at least a better sense of communication to start, and it would be irresponsible for me to recommend her while this is going on.
My biggest issue with the entire process was simply how long I waited for everything. There were times where my maker would finish other people's suit parts such as a tail, to a full head within a day or so, yet almost a year to even get to starting my headbase. I have seen the maker finish several aspects of a suit within merely days, and was given even more reason to believe that I wouldn't have such a long wait after they continuously promised updates and progress, which were sadly either never delivered, or postponed by weeks and months at a time.
