Macro March is in full swing and its mysterious propensity to gigantify furs, and their immediate surroundings, is still poorly understood. A crack team of storm chasers, devoted only to pursuing storms of the Macro kind, are on the case though!
As we near the end of March it's about time I start sharing what I have to show for it! And that happens to be a story commissioned by none other than one of the biggest best wolves and heroes around,
KingDead! Per his wishes I'll be posting a chapter a day until the story is complete.
I hope you enjoy reading it as I certainly enjoyed writing it!

Macro March: Supersized Storm Chasers

Chapter 4
TUNK
The raucous screech of metal, oddly familiar and comforting, greeted the storm chasers when they finally bumbled back onto a road. Clumps of grass, hay, and a muffler belched out from beneath the van.
"Did we need that?" Brook warily asked as he tossed a look over his shoulder.
Rick dismissively waved his hand. "Ahhh, we'll be fine!" he boasted as they weaved into and out of the oncoming lane.
Rubbing at his shoulder, Brook was admittedly reassured by the lack of head lights or frantic beeping. They had the roads to themselves! Not that he recognized them. Vast fields, primarily the soccer and football kind, flanked them. "Where are we anyway?" Brook asked.
"Right where we want to be!" Rick shot back with a smirk.
"N-no that's not-" the feline stammered. His shoulders drooped with a sigh as he turned to Lukas.
A couple of noisy clicks and clacks at the keyboard later and the fennec had the answer Brook desired. "We are... about to pass Carmel High!"
Brook's ears perked to attention. "Oh! That the one they bus everyone in the tri-county area to?"
Lukas nodded while he rubbed at his eyes and briefly turned his gaze away from the glare of the computer monitor. "That still only adds up to, what, a few hundred kids at most? Who the hell do they expect to fill up the fields much less the bleachers?"
"I'm sure a couple of them Reacclimated kids could more than manage to," Rick teased.
"Don't," the fennec grimaced.
THOOOOOOM
A shockwave, rendered visible by the wall of wind and water pushed out in front of it, boomed across the land. Sheets of rain coursed down the van's windows and rendered visibility nonexistent as the front and back windshield wipers furiously squeaked against the glass. Only by the mercy of their lowered center of gravity, courtesy of Rick's rotund rump, di the storm chasers manage to stay upright and on the road.
"The hell?!" Rick yelled as they were forced to drive blind. His bloated toes warily pumped the brakes while he forced them to a halt.
THOOOOOOM
The van briefly leaned onto its side, balanced atop the driver's side tires, before collapsing back onto the asphalt with a not at all reassuring crunch.
"Little buddy! Stick your head on out there and see what's giving us so much trouble woncha?"
Biting down on his lip, Brook reluctantly agreed.
"Don't worry, I gotcha," the raccoon reassured him. As Brook unbuckled himself and climbed atop Rick, that heaving stomach barely dimpling at his touch, the raccoon rolled down his window. "Ready?" Rick asked as he protectively, and possessively, clasped one hand tight around the bitty kitty.
Wincing at the spitting drops of rain already blowing in, Brook took a deep breath and forced his whiskered face outside the breach.
THOOOOOOM
Another wall of water enveloped Brook and threatened to tug him out the window. Rick's grip tightened ferociously on the feline as he cupped him ever closer to his chest. Coughing, the tortoise shell wiped down his sopping wet brow when it passed. "I see a... a... black and white something?"
Squinting, Brook wrinkled his nose. W-wait. "COW!" he screamed. "REVERSE REVERSE REVERSE!"
A bass and baritone moo, sporting depths better suited to an ocean trench, thundered across the county. "HMM?"
The thooms came to a halt as the van squealed backwards along the waterlogged road.
"OH MY GOSH, I"M SO SORRY! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?"
Rick slapped at Brook's back as the tortoise shell cleared his lungs. "We'll manage!" the raccoon yelled back. "Did the worst of the storm just happen to pass by here?"
A monolith of bovine, clad in blue jeans and a tank top that left her pierced stomach exposed, flicked at her touch phone's screen to zoom in on the storm chasers. She casually swatted away some low lying clouds, gales howling across the land when she did so, to improve the clarity of the image. "YEAH, YOU JUST MISSED IT! THE WIND AND LIGHTNING WAS AWFUL! OH! DO YOU ALL KNOW WHERE CARMEL HIGH SCHOOL IS? I'M SUPPOSED TO PICK UP MY COUSIN. I WAS GONNA SURPRISE THEM WHILE I'M VISITING DURING SPRING BREAK BUT I GOT A LITTLE CARRIED AWAY TAKING IN THE VIEW! MY FRIENDS WOULD KILL FOR SELFIES LIKE THESE."
"I think they'll be plenty surprised, don’t worry," Lukas opined through his now rolled down window. "And uhh... it should be right around here! I mean you're trampling over the Carmel sports complex as we speak."
The cow lifted a hoof and watched as goal posts and bleachers tumbled from her cloven soles. Tremors ripped apart the earth every time she shifted her weight between those mountainous hooves. "OOPS. APPRECIATE IT! SORRY ABOUT THE WHOLE ALMOST PANCAKING YOU THING!"
"It's all good! We just ask you mind your step is all!" Rick shouted back with a wave. Battery whirring, the raccoon rolled the windows back up and shifted the car back into drive. After a couple false starts, mostly due to his chafing toes pressing both pedals simultaneously, the van rolled onwards.
As they advanced the headlights automatically flicked on while the wind grew angry and restless. Thick purple clouds blotted out the light of the sky and draped the land in darkness.
"Took us longer than I would've liked," Lukas snorted as he gripped at the sides of the laptop. "But we made it. It's slowing down AND strengthening from the looks of it. We'll be on it, no, in it within a matter of minutes."
Relentless cracks of lightning arced across the sky and illuminated the land for seconds at a time. A grim picture of awaited the trio.
"You act like that wasn't the plan all along," Rick joked before speeding up. He reached around and slung an arm round Brook's shoulder and pulled him in against his thigh after the cat had buckled back in. "Ready, buddy?"
Stifling a cough, Brook blushed at the extra padding and protection Rick's bulk offered for the sure to be bumpy ride ahead. "Ready," the feline responded.
