Well, I glues on the "skin". The color is the closest I could find in the short time I had. The closest fleece fabric I found was too light in color for my liking. I got it anyway but kelp an eye (or two) for something better.
Then I found it, very close and has a nice shiny sheen to it as well. I is like a cross better fleece and velvet. I was a Wally World and came across this plush blanket by Better Homes & Garden brand called Corsair. One side has this weird check-boarded pattern but the other side is nice a smooth. Luckily the two sides were sown together only at the edges. SO I cut the thread to get the maximum usable area as possible as it was just only just a square yard in size. I got two just in case. I was under $9US so why not.
Just as I suspected, lots of the detail I put in the foam base went away when I attached the fabric. But I think enough shown through to give it some dimension. Good enough for my first stab at making a furhead.
I still have lots to do like lining the mouth. I am going to keep it simple. I also need to attach the tan neck piece as well do something about the opening in the back. There is enough fabric material back there to close it up but I am not sure what is the best way to go about it. Of course the ears needs to be done. The horns, however, I probably skip time is rapidly running out. 0.0
I eyes could use some work. Maybe give is a black outline or something. What do you guys think? Any ideas to finish it off? I really have one one day left before I have to travel up to Dallas for TFF. I'll be leaving super early Thursday morning. At any rate, I am going to bring the materials with me as I am going to be driving. Maybe I can get some help in completing this beast.
I do have to say it looks better in person than in the pics.

I coming down to the wire. Got the mouth lined with black fleece and the neck front done but the ears and the back of the head is not finished. I want to hit the ears as that is more visible than the back. I can cover it up with something. Maybe a bandana, hoodie, or some other object to hide the opening. Maybe I can whip up a quickie tongue.
It is a 4 to 5 1/2 hour drive so I want to get up early. Traffic in Austin is probably going to be the worse.
