1.) Swine flu isn't all that new, it's a class 3C Zoonosis (meaning it's been around for a while), and it's no more deadly than regular flu. The mortality rate in the US is less than 0.02%, which is similar to or less than "seasonal flu."
2.) I had the H1N1/09 virus back in May, although my only symptoms were chills/fever. I was however hospitalized because my fever was around 105. I was sick for fewer than24 hours, though.
