"Life is too short not to follow your own star.
If you want to trim hedges, go for it.
If you want to drive Indy cars, become a surgeon, sing on a cruise
ship, or be a talking dog, this life is your own to steer where you will."
There aren't many people in the world who could rival dogbomb as an ambassador and beacon of light for not just the furry community, but humanity as a whole. I've met few people as kind, generous, humble, and eager to help as the man in the dog costume. And as such, there couldn't be a worse person to be diagnosed with ALS.
From helping lost children find their parents, to encouraging them to follow their dreams no matter what others think, to bringing joy to people who have faced a life full of adversity, to just brightening a day for any of his readers - or the lucky few who have met him in person, Dogbomb is a living embodiment of the Golden Rule.
Despite his illness, he has continued to live his life, spread his message, raise over $100,000 to fight ALS, and keep his good humor. And he's doing everything on his own terms, no one else's, least of all the disease's. And there's not much more admirable than that.
Here's to you, Dogbomb, and to everything you stand for. The fandom will be a little darker without you in it, but the years you spent in it have made it all the brighter.
You can donate to ALS.org and find other ways to get involved here.
"Everyone deserves respect...and the chance to chat with a giant dog."

If you haven't yet, unfortunately, it's extremely unlikely. He's got just under two weeks left

Goodness.... I was unaware it was so close. Yet another lesson drove home from him. Live for today -_-

He really is the best of us. And a fitting tribute to the sweetest doggo one could hope to meet.
