Well i guess if an intruder does come in while the door is wide open, you would have a multitude of animals to just maul them. Imagine one of them holding up a sign "wrong house, we will give you a 60 seconds head start, but we are bad with time so it could be 20 seconds, but you should begin running now" a chorus of growls is heard, and gleaming eyes from their flashlight reflecting on eyes.
