Van likes to swim a lot, he does some competitions (which allows him to have some money when he finishes in the first three) He seeks to have a coach who would allow him, eventually, to go to the national competition without preventing him from continuing to go to school to realize his dream : to work in egyptology, paleontology or archeology (even if he has a weakness for dinosaurs and therefore paleontology) Sorey (I'm reminded that this is "Dark/Tainted" Sorey) is his biggest fan and supporter. He's part of the pompom boys of the school and encourages many Van this way. They both get to meet before and after the competitions by the pool.
