Another shot of my M39 Finnish Army rifle by Sako. Purchased through a local "kitchen table" dealer in the late 1980s for under $50. Came with cracked stock, which my brother and I dowel-rodded to repair. Has an octagonal receiver--salvaged from a captured Russian rifle.
I've taken this one into the woods deer hunting, but never shot anything other than targets with it. Most often fired with sub-caliber chamber insert. I can bang steel with .32 caliber handloads all day without getting a bruised shoulder, and still get trigger time on this WW2-era carbine.
