Mothwing shut her eyes, heart aching as she tried to fall asleep. She couldn’t help but keep thinking, mind racing in fear and grief. She knew she had never believed in StarClan, but for once, she wished she could see it more than she ever had before.

She opened an eye looking next to her, and saw Willowshine fast asleep. Jayfeather was asleep but jolting his back leg in stress. Mothwing flopped over and looked towards the stars, wishing she could feel the warmth of the tabby beside her back when she talked about those fables of StarClan.
