I've been looking up and studying bat wings (and wings in general) lately. Somehow this transitioned into me wanting to doodle a wyvern-hummingbird hybrid, because I thought it'd be silly. Then suddenly that doodle became not-a-doodle, and here we are.

The lineart was done long before I had any idea of what to do for colors, so I wound up looking up hummingbirds. Found the bee hummingbird (Mellisuga helenae), so that was my inspiration for this. Particularly the male bee hummingbird, in breeding colors for that iridescent cluster of feathers around the face.
