Image Description: Cristopher, wearing a blue jacket and red bow tie over a button-down white shirt, with darker blue jeans and a grey belt, looking incredibly embarrassed and shocked with shock marks above his head, blushing as he has just wet his pants and forming a small puddle behind him is on the left - Skye, who is much smaller than Christopher, is on the right, wearing light blue overalls and a long sleeve red shirt, looking at him with surprise and disbelief at the sight in front of him, with an exclamation point above his head. In the background is a faint blue wallpaper with smiling white clouds and a roller coaster track, while they stand over a slightly darker blue carpet with a red polka dot pattern.
Once Christopher arrived at the pre-school/daycare that Skye attended, a lot changed for him. He had competition as the smartest kid in school, and was throughly outmatched. Christopher's family was very wealthy, he was slightly older than him, smarter than him, and was constantly praised by all the grown-ups, especially for being so mature for his age. He was even totally potty trained! Needless to say, this frustrated Skye greatly, and the two of them quickly formed a fairly hostile rivalry.
That all changed, however, on one fateful day. The two of them had been arguing over something petty that neither of them even remember at this point. Christopher felt the need to use the potty in the middle of the argument, but refused to halt it, as doing so for such a thing in his mind would be the same as conceding defeat, plus, it was embarrassing and childish, so he was determined to hold it. But as it turned out, arguing with a full bladder was a terrible idea, and soon he found he just couldn't hold it anymore. Mortified, Christopher stood there as wetness spread across his nice (and expensive!) pants, finding himself uncharacteristically speechless as his bladder emptied itself. Skye stood there too, just as quiet - he couldn't believe what was happening in front of his eyes. The boy that just a second ago seemed so smart and grown-up, peeing himself like a baby. It was in that moment he realized, that maybe they weren't so different afterall.
Even though it was quite the confidence boost, Skye didn't have the heart to mock him for this. Even though they had just been fighting, he was a good boy who was raised not to make fun of others. Instead, once the shock wore out, he held out his hand for a truce. He confided in Christopher that he has accidents sometimes too, and helped him get the assistance of a grown-up without drawing too much attention from the other kids. Ever since that day, the two of them shared a mutual respect for eachother, and while their rivalry still remained, there was no hostility - the two of them became close friends.

Ooh! This would certainly change everything. It also makes sense as to how this would happen and how it could provide the perfect opportunity for the two to become better pals than rivals.
Christopher shows his weakness in his pride. Skye saw this and made sure to not be a meanie for it. Instead Skye sought a way to ensure that the self-assured chipmunk would be able to retain the reputation he had in the daycare without anyone being the wiser. That is quite big of Skye and certainly a life lesson moment for Christopher.
I can certainly see the two still having their disagreements. However, when push may come to shove, I believe Christopher would be there for Skye and visa-versa.
It is really amazing how strong friendships can get started. A moment of compassion, like this, is a great way to show how a bond can be formed that may lead into deeper kindness towards each other in the future.
It will be enjoyable to follow all that will come between these two, and their friends, as time provides you opportunity and inspiration to share. :)
