Heyo everybody! I just recently finished a gift plushie for Kittykatowo! They have been a wonderful person and friend the past few months, and even gifted me a badge! I felt that it was only right to return their kindness with a plushie ^_^
Speedsew Video
I streamed the process of making the plushie on Twitch, so I decided to make a speedpaint style video for it as well!

The Process
The plushie took me about 4 months to finish >.< This was way longer than I expected it to take simply because my first draft of the plushie didn't come out nearly as good as I wanted it to.
1. Picking out the colors
I started the process by picking out all the colors of fabric I would need for the project. Thankfully, I already had the perfect colors in my collection, so I didn't need to go sifting through the fabric isles at my local stores
2. Embroidery
This was the main reason I didn't like the first draft. The pawprints came out wonderful, but the eyes and mouth just weren't up to par :pensive: The main reason for this was that the original head design was a style that made it impossible for me to do embroidery on, so I had to settle with cutting out the embroidery and glueing it on. Originally I thought this would do, but in the end I hated how it looked.
3. Sewing everything together
The limbs, tail, and ears came out just how I wanted them to. But the head and body were sewn together sloppily, and in the end it simply wasn't something I could be proud of.
4. Gluing on the pieces
Another major flaw of the original design, the glued on facial features and back stripes looked absolutely horrible! I can't believe I originally thought that this would be good enough >.<
5. Brainstorming
After finishing the first draft of the plushie, it was obvious that I would need to redo it. But, I had a very hard time figuring out how to do so. This was definitely the biggest factor in why making it took so long. Eventually, though, I had a clear image in my mind of how I wanted it to look, and got working on it again!
6. Redoing the plushie
I started by doing some new eye and mouth embroidery that I like MUCH more than the original. Then, I moved on to redoing the body by taking it apart, remaking sections that needed it, and sewing it all together. After everything was sewn, I went in to do the embroidery on the back for the stripes. Normally, I would have done the embroidery before sewing the back and front together, but because I was worried about it not be centered properly, I opted to do it the hard way and embroider it afterwards. It came out much better than the original's glued on pieces of fabric! Next, I stuffed the pieces and sewed together the tail, body, and head. Finally, I sewed a cute little bow tie, and made the hair~
In the end, I am so happy I decided to redo the plushie, and even happier that I was able to give Kittykatowo a plushie in return for all of their kindness to me T^T
Commissions
I am still not taking plushie commissions due to health reasons, but I do take commissions for bandannas and collars. I also have lots of premade options! Please check my commissions page for more info!
