This is a request from
digiknight who asked me to draw his character Y. Zhuang in my style.
This version has an alternate headband than what is usually portrayed in his character. I presumed at one point he had alternate headbands, but I find later it tends to having the blades on the side of the head as opposed to the front. Whoopsie me. LOL.
In any case, it matches the armor I gave him with the engraving in the blades on the headband echoing in the belt and the knee guards on the boots.
The hair was new for me since I normally do not do hair and especially not on avians. Nevertheless I find it turned out well and close to the look and style normally found on his character.
The folds in the cloth where fun to play with. In the drawing phase I had much more wrinkles and had to tone it down a bit due to my old habit of obsession to detail. Must learn to simplify. LOL.
The wings were added last. The rows of feathers are likely anatomically incorrect, but so is hair on a eagle with a human like body. ROFL. ^^.
The upper torso is one of my more accurate ones to date. I even placed the arms to be more accurate in the posture. The posture in question is one of apprehension. The reason is that he is in a 'ready to fight' position, particularly found in scenes on movies where a character is about to do street fighting with a nemesis. Either that or a pose found on Street Fighter 2 through 4. LOL. ^\/^.
I would like to find time to color this (like many of my drawings) one day. This one certainly has potential to be a rather good coloring. I may do either soft or hard cell shading on this one. Either that or a plain coloring, Manga style or Marvel / DC style comic inking and coloring. ^\/^.
Traditional pencil drawing and inking, scanned and digitally cleaned of excess pencil marks and ghost line and given filters to smooth the lines. (unfinished (not colored)). ^\/^.
