I looove the sharp contrasts of vivid colour from the characters standing out from the background, and yet the background still is visually interesting. Despite the lack of linework (being a painting) the shapes still have clarity and pop out, although admittedly Lex could do with a little extra love in the detailing department. But the main focus being Mitch and his expression is priceless, the tail looming in the background looks like it has a far bit of distance to it, the slight colour difference giving it a hazy appearance really adds to the panda's scale.
