Oh I know what might be happening. In windows, if you open a jpg image in windows image viewer, you have the option to rotate. If you rotate it this way, some metadata is saved to keep it that way on your computer. If you want to physically rotate it, you might have to open the image in paint, and save as a new image after you rotate it there.
