The Pikachu and the BunnyYuri Volten, along with his newest companion, Tsuki, were travelling together to a mountain known as Atuh Top, to see the mayor of the town that resided there. Since the Pikachu’s regular teammates were busy, the green rabbit-like creature, Tsuki, more than happily offered her assistance.
Looking at her, Yuri smiled as he remembered when he had first met her, just under a month ago. And despite not being a fellow Pokémon, he had formed a friendship with her.
“Look, there is town at the foot of the mountain!” Tsuki happily cried out, pointing at a large collection of houses in the distance. “We can rest there for the night.”
“Yeah, maybe we should.” Yuri noted, glancing up at the darkening skies above. “It wouldn’t be wise hiking up to Taloon Town in the darkness.”
The two of them made it to the village just as the sun set over the horizon. Making their way through the crowded streets, both Yuri and Tsuki were looking at the surrounding buildings, each taking a side. They were on the look-out for an inn, hotel or any type of establishment that would house them for the night. As they searched, they couldn’t help but notice that some of the villagers looked tired as if they’ve been working all day. The ones who realized they were being observed by the two strangers simply smiled and waved at them, happy to see visitors to their town.
“This village must have a lot of hard workers.” Tsuki commented with a giggle, getting a little serious as she pointed out. “It is strange, though. I don’t see any signs of constructions,”
Yuri yawned, his exhaustion overwhelming him. “I just hope we can find a place to stay soon, Tsuki.” He said, lagging a bit behind his rabbit buddy and saying. “I still don’t see how you’re not as tired as I am.”
Looking over her shoulder at the Pikachu while wearing a huge grin, Tsuki replied “What can I say? Rabbits must have more energy than Pikachus." She teasingly poked out her tongue. “But seriously though...” She then said, turning his head back around to resume their task of locating a place to stay. “I hope we find somewhere nice and cosy to stay, too.”
As luck would have it, the next building they saw had the words “Inn” written on a sign above it. Exhaling sighs of relief, the two friends made their way over to the inn as fast as their tired legs could carry them. The wooden floorboards creaked as they walked into the small building and up to the front desk. A Nuzleaf was sitting at the reception, lost in a sleepy daze and not yet aware of the presence of the new guests. It looked like the Grass/Dark-type could barely keep his eyes open. Yuri was about to loudly clear his throat to catch the attention of the weary innkeeper when Tsuki tapped the silver bell on the counter, letting off a soft ting.
“Huh? What?” Nuzleaf spoke out in surprise, his body jerking upright. His eyes caught sight of Yuri and Tsuki and, after yawning, smiled at them in a kind and welcoming manner. “Oh, I do apologize! Welcome to the Snooze Well Inn! Do you two require a single room or two seperate rooms?”
“Since we don’t have that much money between us, we would like a single room, please,” Tsuki requested, placing a small bag of coins onto the desk. “I hope this is enough to cover our stay.”
Nuzleaf just looked upon the money, before turning around, withdrawing a key off of the many hooks behind him.“Have a pleasant stay.” The innkeeper just said, placing the key on the counter, before resting his head upon the counter as well, looking as if he was about to fall asleep.
But looking at him, it looked as though he needed it.
Confused and a little concerned, Tsuki asked. “Do you think everything is alright with this town?”
“Not really,” Yuri replied, rubbing his sleepy eyes, before letting out a yawn. “But I am pretty tired myself and cannot think straight if I don’t get some sleep soon.” He then told his female companion, taking the key off of the desk and began to walk up the stairs.
“Are you coming?” He asked, looking behind him and saw Tsuki was still standing at the reception area.
“Not just yet.” Tsuki replied, her stomach rumbling a little as she explained. “After all that walking, I have worked up quite the appetite and could really go for a big meal.”
“Suit yourself. Just try and not to stay up all night.” The Pikachu advised, moving past his bunny companion to head up the stairs. “You know what room we are in, right?” He then asked, stopping on the third step up.
Tsuki gave a nod and said with a smile. “Yeah, don’t worry about it, Yuri.”
“I should only be an hour or so.” She then informed Yuri, before walking off in the direction of the cafetera area, causing Yuri to smile, knowing Tsuki could look after herself and wasn’t going to do anything drastic, just get some food, then head back to their room to sleep off the weight, unaware of the events destiny had in store for Tsuki.
After finding the cafeteria hall, Tsuki spent the next fifteen minutes snacking on whatever she could get her hands on. Luckily for her, the kitchen door was unlocked, where she entered and began to chow down on some of the snacks in the fridge, placing money on the counter to repay for what she had taken, not wanting to be seen as a thief or a bad person, even leaving a decent sized tip when she finished.
Now full, Tsuki rubbed her stomach and smiled, stretching out her arms as she yawned.‘That hit the spot!” She said out loud to herself, feeling the effects of all the food making her fairly sleepy and decided to go back to their hotel room.
However, Tsuki snapped awake as she heard the faint sound of the cafeteria doors opening, making her peak outside the kitchen, where she saw the Nuzleaf bellboy, as well as a few other Pokémon that included a Nidoking, a Lucario and a Kirlia, all shared the same, all sharing the same drained expressions on their faces.
“How are things going at Master Darkening’s mansion?” The Nuzleaf then asked, which made Tsuki curious and caused her to continue to listen in on the conversation.
“Things are going along fine. The entire west section has been completed, though we could use more hands in the final preparations for the south hall,” the Nidoking replied, just before asking. “Where are those new guests of yours? The Pikachu and that rabbit girl?”
From the mention of them, Tsuki remained as silent as possible, unsure what they had in mind for them, but didn’t want to alert anybody to her presence.
“As we speak, they are sleeping in their room; they would be no use to Master Darkening right now.” Nuzleaf replied, just before they headed into another area of the inn, their voices gradually fading away.
Tsuki’s curiosity grew when she heard the name ‘Master Darkening’ again.
‘Who is this Darkening character, and does he have any reason as to why everybody seems so tired?’ She thought to herself, feeling her sense of righteousness get the better of her as she then thought. “Maybe he is forcing all the Pokemon here to work on his mansion and not allowing them to sleep until it’s completed. Whoever he is, I think Darkening should learn some manners and respect!”
Filled with a sense of determination, Tsuki brushed away her tiredness and followed the Pokémon. She hopped from hiding place to hiding place, keeping a keen eye on the suspicious town folk. Since the village was completely devoid of any other signs of life, it was a simple task trailing them.
And after five minutes of sneaking, she saw them reach a large house near the other side of the village, which had a fence around it and, unlike the majority of other households; it had two stories and stylish curtains, looking more elegant and regal compared to all the buildings around the area.
“This building must be the mayor’s house.” Tsuki deduced, peeking out from behind an empty barrel and watching as the Pokémon entered the house, where she went up to one of the bottom windows to look inside, to see what was happening behind the mansion’s closed doors and saw that the room she was spying into was the living room, judging by the couches and other decor, while standing in the centre of the room with his back to her was a Pikachu, dressed in a black tuxedo and top hat.
Tsuki tilted her head to the side in confusion, thinking at first it might be Yuri, but remembering that she left him back at the inn, she knew it was a new Pikachu .In the corner of her eye, she saw the Pokémon she was following walk into the room, causing her to duck out of sight and remained crouched down, expecting one of them to talk.
“Master, we have news.” The Nidoking then said, breaking the silence.
Tsuki lifted her head just enough for her to peek through the window, confusion falling upon her to see the group of Pokémon were on their knees in front of the costumed Pikachu, their heads bowed in respect.
Whoever this master was, he still had his back turned to everyone.
“Is there a problem?” The smartly dressed rodent questioned with a haughty tone to his voice.
He turned slightly to the side to look at his slaves, revealing a glass of red wine in his paw, which he swished before taking a sip from it. “I can tell by your tone that you messed something up.”
“There are newcomers to the village, Master.” The Nuzleaf informed, raising his head and saying. “They came to my inn wanting rooms. A Pikachu and a green creature that I believe isn’t even a Pokémon are currently sleeping there.”
“A Green creature? Does he mean me?” Tsuki whispered to herself, puffing up cheeks up, feeling a bit offended by the Nuzleaf’s ignorance. “Doesn’t he know what a rabbit is or something?”
After taking a second gulp of his drink, the Pikachu let out a sigh.
“And this is a concern to me, why? If you morons followed my orders accurately, then neither one of them would be none the wiser.” He told them, sounding fairly annoyed and casting a warning glare. “My plan has gone this far without any screw ups and I will not react kindly if you somehow find a way to ruin it!”
As Tsuki continued to eavesdrop on the conversation, she was too focused on trying to figure what was going on that she didn’t notice someone walk up behind her, that was until a Leavanny grabbed Tsuki and picked her up, restraining her in a firm grasp.
“Hey!” The rabbit cried out, kicking her legs and flailing her arms as she yelled. “Who do you think you are sneaking up on people like that? Put me down!”
Ignoring Tsuki’s plight, the Leavanny entered the house, walked into the living room and dropped Tsuki near her master, all the while, the Pokémon was wearing an expression devoid of any emotion; at least none Tsuki could identify.
Not that it mattered at this point, for Tsuki’s attention was drawn to the tuxedo-wearing Pikachu staring at her.
“Well, who do we have here?” The Pikachu asked, examining Tsuki from head-to-toe and commented. “You don’t look like any Pokémon I’ve seen before.”
“Yeah, I’ve been getting that a lot lately.” She told him as she got back to her feet, managing to put on a tiny smile as if she had quickly grown accustomed to being treated as an unknown creature in the Pokemon world.
“But enough about me, let’s talk about you. Who are you and why are the villagers acting so weird?” Tsuki then questioned, wanting answers.
“My name is Darkening Lotsamoni, my dear.” The Pikachu replied, a smug grin popping up on his face, standing in a pose that demonstrated his conceited attitude.
“Do not be alarmed. Being a gentleman, I wouldn’t dream of harming a pretty young lady such as yourself.” Darkening offered as he held out his paw.
Tsuki momentarily looked at the paw before staring back at Darkening, narrowing her eyes, not trusting him or his words.
“You’re a gentleman? I admit that you dress the part, but those Pokémon certainly aren’t treating you like one.” She noted, pointing at the kneeling Pokémon.
Darkening sighed, shaking his head. “I suppose I can’t hide it from such an insightful girl. Look out of the window over there!” Darkening stated, placing his arm around Tsuki’s shoulder, leading her over to the window as he asked. “Do you see that construction, site halfway up the mountain?”
Feeling uncomfortable with the rich rodent touching her, she stepped to the side, escaping from his light grasp. Looking at the spot where Darkening was pointing, she saw that a large building was in the early stages of construction. There were bright lights set up around the area, illuminating it in the darkness.
“What about it?” Tsuki asked, keeping up her guard in case the Pikachu tried anything funny with her.
“Isn’t it obvious, my long eared guest?” Darkening asked of her, holding out his paw to the side, palm facing upward.
The Nidoking servant rose to his feet and walked over to his master, placing a cigarette-holder in between the fingertips of the held out paw, lighting it soon after. Once this task was achieved, the poison/ground type returned to his fellow slaves to kneel down beside them, resuming his show of respect.
“One privileged with a vast amount of wealth such as myself cannot restrict himself with just one place to call his home.” Darkening explained after taking a puff of his cigarette, before telling Tsuki. “Though these villagers live in a primitive way, the landscape around here is simply breathtaking when viewed from the mountains up there.”
“Yeah, Yuri and I saw the most beautiful flowers I’ve ever seen on our way here.” Tsuki commented in reply, closing her eyes to picture the wonderful scenery she had seen this morning, smiling and sighing in happiness.
“That is still no reason to do whatever you did to the villagers!” She then shouted at the villainous Pikachu, opening her eyes to glare at him. “It’s like you put some sort of spell on them or something! You could have just asked them nicely to help you!”
Darkening blew out smoke, much to the dismay of Tsuki.
“There wouldn’t have seen the benefits without my unique style of convincing.” He replied, remaining calm and collected.
“You must understand, Tsuki, and there is only one way to wipe away that disrespectful ignorance you have.” Darkening told the rabbit girl.
Tsuki braced herself for a fight.
Despite her adorable appeal and bubbly personality, she was capable of defending herself in case she needed to, only to see Darkening’s eyes fill up with orange and blue spirals, glowing and swirling around at a steady pace.
Taken by surprise, Tsuki stared into the colourful array of spirals, lured in by the entrancing spectacle.
“What... what are you...?” The green bunny mumbled, lowering her guard as she continued to look at Darkening, trapped by his powerful gaze.
Keeping his gaze locked with Tsuki, Darkening then said. “You cannot resist my orders, you cannot resist me.”
Bringing up a sudden burst of resilience, Tsuki hopped towards the tuxedo wearing creep head first. Being far from the agile type, Darkening was unable to dodge in time, receiving a blow to his chest. The attack was strong enough to knock the wind out of him and sent the Pikachu stumbling backwards, eventually landing on his backside.
“Sorry, but this bunny is not that easy to beat. I can face a Pokémon like you with no problem!” Tsuki proclaimed, puffing out her furry chest in pride and decorating her face with a long cheesy grin.
“Why you...” Darkening growled, pushing himself up with a paw that was quilving from a fit of rage.
A look of disgust crossed with anger had appeared on his face as he looked at his long eared attacker. “I thought you were different from the riff raff, but you are just a fluffy ruffian!”
“Ruffian!?” Exclaimed an offended Tsuki, her cheeks inflating in a similar way to a Jigglypuff as she said with a continued anger. “For a gentleman, you sure do lack manners and respect for the ladies, Darkening!”
The orange and blue spirals in Darkening’s eyes began to spin faster, letting off a slightly more potent shine, before he clicked his fingers, alerting his motionless slaves behind him and snapping them out of their status of just being empty-headed decorations as all got to their feet and looked at their master, who pointed towards Tsuki.
“You will not defy our master!” The Nuzleaf shouted at Tsuki, before he, along with the two other servants, jumped at her.
Using her nimble speed, Tsuki hopped into the air, evading the trio’s attempt of capturing her, performing a forward flip, before she landed on the other side of the room. The slaves ended up colliding with one another, collapsing together in a heap.
Growling at his servants embarrassing failure, Darkening snatched up a golden cane that was resting up against a sofa. The knob was in the shape of a PIkachu with little shards of diamond for each of it eyes. As he pointed it Tsuki, his sinister grin made an unnerving return to his face.
“Are you planning on whacking me with that?” Tsuki asked, eyeing the fancy item with both interest and a little bit of fear.
“I am not ashamed to admit that I cannot electrocute others, despite being a Pikachu,” Darkening explained, moving his left paw to touch the tip of his cane. “To make up for my lack of defense, I have taken certain precautions so I don’t end up meeting a terrible fate.”
A tiny compartment in the shape of a mouth opened up on the Pikachu head, releasing powdery mist at Tsuki, it was Stun Spore, to which the spores immediately took effect, cancelling out any further plans Tsuki had for escaping, an expression of distress dawned on her face as she tried desperately to move even an inch, but the only movement she could make were slight body spasms.
“Please forgive me for this underhanded tactic, Tsuki. I hope you understand that I simply cannot allow you to leave with the information you have about me and my plans,” Darkening explained, handing his cane to one of his servants standing at his side.
Darkening approached the paralyzed bunny, the entrancing spirals returning to fill up his eyes. He cupped her chin, bringing his face up close to hers’ so the only thing she could see was the orange and blue spirals.
Feeling as though her mind was going to break, Tsuki tried her hardest to resist, trying to escape the gaze of the Pikachu, but despite her protests, her body refused to listen to her.
“You are stronger than most of the villagers I have hypnotized, but you will fall before me.” Darkening said with a sinister smirk, keeping his right paw on Tsuki’s face, while bringing up his left and told her. “And when I snap my fingers, you will submit. You will no longer fight me, but serve me. You will find yourself unable to disobey me.”
“N... no...” Tsuki groaned weakly, putting up what defences she had left, only for her eyes to then dull and glaze over, while her expression turned empty, leaving her staring blankly at Darkening, who smirked and finished in brainwashing Tsuki as he snapped his fingers, setting the commands in Tsuki’s head.
Backing away from Tsuki, Darkening took to his throne and asked. “Tell me, my dear, who are you and who am I?”
“I am Tsuki, I am just a slave of you, my Master... You are my reason for existing, the one who I serve and obey... Command me and I will follow...” Tsuki replied in a distant tone, showing she had been brainwashed, making Darkening smirk and tell his new servant. “Now listen very carefully, Tsuiki; here is what I want you to do…”
The morning sun shining in through the inn window made Yuri stir as he began to awaken. With a stretch and yawn, the Pikachu sat up in bed, fully refreshed for the day ahead of him. He picked up his goggles that were on the bedside table, before he glanced over at the only other bed in the room where he expected to see Tsuki. However, not only was the bed vacant, it looked like nobody had slept in it for week.
“Tsuki? I wonder where she is?” Yuri wondered out loud, getting out of his bed and felt some concern for the rabbit girl, hoping she hadn’t got herself in any trouble.
“Morning, Yuri!” The voice of Tsuki then called as she opened the door, causing Yuri to sigh, but say with some worry.
“Tsuki, where have you been, I was starting to get worried.” Yuri asked.
“Oh, I was just out and exploring the town.” Tsuki replied, continuing to sound like her cheerful self, only to rub her head and add with some confusion. “Only, I can’t remember exactly where I went. I do remembering leaving the Inn, heading around, but things get fuzzy from there.”
“Maybe if we get something to eat, it’ll help your thinking.” Yuri suggested, not only wanting to know more about Tsuki’s night, but also grab a bite, feeling his stomach rumble a little.
“You’re just saying that because you are hungry.” Tsuki teased, only to be silenced herself as her stomach gave off a fair growling sound, making Yuri grin and ask. “You were saying?”
At Yuri’s teasing, Tsuki crossed her arms, faking a look of anger before giggling and poking out her tongue.
She was then about to say something only both were interrupted as a loud ringing came from the outside of the room, causing Yuri to see what was making such a noise as he approached the windows, opened the blinds and saw a large tower in the distance, noticing a massive bell chiming away.
“Looks like this place has its own alarm clock.” Yuri joked, turning to see what Tsuki thought of the bell tower, but was left puzzled as he saw Tsuki had ceased talking, her eyes lost the shine of life they usually held, while she stood at attention.
“Tsuki?” Yuri asked, getting no reply and asking again, while going deeper into questioning. “Tsuki, are you ok, what’s going on?”
“The start of the day is the time to obey...” Tsuki said in reply, her voice matching the cold and vacant glare in her eyes, before she turned and began to exit the room and making her way down the stairs.
But telling something was up with her, Yuri quickly followed, reaching the bottom, where he grabbed at Tsuki’s arm and tried to stop her.
“Tsuki, speak to me.” He said, only for Tsuki to shake him off of her and continued to walk away.
“The start of the day is the time to obey...” Tsuki repeated again, repeating the same ten words over and over, continuing to concern Yuri as he followed after Tsuki, calling to her, but it was as if she couldn’t see or hear him, as if she was trapped in her own world.
Following Tsuki, Yuri watched as she walked out of the inn and into the streets, joining up with a group of Pokemon, all of whom were mindlessly marching towards the mountain, all chanting the same mantra as the green rabbit, which made Yuri think aloud. “Ok, something seriously wrong is happening to this place.”
“And what did they do to Tsuki?” He questioned, looking to see the rabbit girl joining the march, acting as one of them as she remained to speak the same words over and over, while venturing through the streets, acting in a way he never saw her partake.
Keeping by her side as they continued to head through the town, Yuri continued his hardest to try and awaken Tsuki, to break her from whatever spell was cast over her, but found nothing was working.
“C’mon, Tsuki, you have to wake up!” He begged, but found she would just remain ignoring his voice and continue in her chanting, followed by all the Pokemon around her.
And as best he could to keep up with Tsuki, his vision of the rabbit was obscured as a second path of Pokemon joined the group from the right, mixing in and forming one collective that pushed Yuri aside and out, leaving him to fall on his side and lose sight of his friend.
“Tsuki!” He called to the crowd. “Tsuki, if you can hear me, say something!”
However, all Yuri got was the group repeating the phrase. “The start of the day is the time to obey...”
“Man, I am getting sick of those words.” Yuri said, pulling himself back to his feet, looking amongst all the vacant eyed Pokemon and thinking. “I guess if I have any chance to find Tuski, I’ll have to find out where everybody is heading.”
Following the villagers up a mountain path, he soon noticed a pair of tough-looking Machamp in the distance, looking in his direction.
Yuri gasped and jumped behind a nearby rock, concealing himself from their sight, knowing he couldn’t get past them without a fight, but didn’t want to cause a panic.
However, much to his relief, they were just there to divide the villagers into separate groups, directing them to certain places.
The strongest among them, mainly the Fighting-types were set in the heavy lifting group, to pick up the large plank of woods and other heavy objects, while the rest of the Pokemon picked up tools and used what skills they could to assist in the construction, with Pokemon like Scyther and Accelgor cutting through the planks, Salandit and Weedle using their various adhesive based attacks to act as a temporary stabilizer until more suited material was set in, while Flying Pokemon were to carry the material to the upper floors.
It was then that he witnessed Tsuki walk into what appeared to be a porta potty, where she re-emerged a couple of minutes later, now wearing a maid uniform and smiling widely, even though her eyes still expressed very little motion.
Stunned at her outfit, Tsuki had to ask. ‘First she’s all weird and ignoring me, now she is dressing up. What is going on?’
But resuming his attention to Tsuki, Yuri watched her as she headed over to a table full of drinks, snacks and other assortment of refreshments, picking up a tray that consisted of a glass pitcher of water, several glasses and an arrangement of foods, which she delivered over to a Pikachu, who was sitting upon a regal looking chair as he observed the Pokemon building his palace.
“Here is your drink, Master...” Tsuki said, holding out the tray, where the second Pikachu casually took the glass and into his paw, only to examine the item.
“Ah, Tsuki. I am so delighted you are here early and dressed for the occasion!” Darkening commented, placing the glass down on the small table after he took a sip of it, where Tsuki giggled gleefully.
“I am happy to see you satisfied, Master.” She said, bowing her head in respect, which caused Yuri to think. ‘Master? Then that means he is the one who messed with Tsuki’s head.”
Unable to take seeing his friend being manipulated, being treated as a slave, Yuri then stepped from his hiding place and confronted the rich rodent, seemingly surprising the rich Pikachu to see another Pikachu in his presence, but remaining calm, the Pikachu looked at Yuri, examined him and asked. “Judging from you not working, you are obviously not one of my servants, so who are you?”
“My name is Yuri Volten, and you have something precious to me.” Yuri replied, which made the second Pikachu turn his gaze at Tsuki, who stood beside the Pikachu with a continued distant smile on her face, making him ask. “Do you mean her, my latest servant?”
“Tsuki is not a servant, she is my best friend!” Yuri snapped back, before he demanded. “Now release her from your control, Darkneing.”
At Yuri’s call, Darkening just smirked.
“So you have heard of me?” He asked, earning a nod from Yuri, who said in reply. “You are part of the Lotsumi family, but I know you only acquired your wealth through deception, misguidance and manipulation.”
“Impressive. Somebody has done their homework.” Darkening commented, before he gave off a sinister smirk as an idea came to his mind, where the rich Pikachu then faced Tsuki and said. “If you want Tsuki so badly come and get her, but I don’t think she’s particularly interested in being with a brat like you.”
“Tsuki, get rid of this intruder!” He then ordered, smiling as Tsuki lunged at her former friend, showing no mercy as she swung her ears at Yuri, which lit up with light energy as she attacked.
Avoiding Tsuki’s attack, Lunar Strike, Yuri called out with concern and begging. “Tsuki, snap out of it! I know you are still in there.”
“Sorry but your little girlfriend belongs to me now.” Darkening said, continuing to take enjoyment in seeing the two friends forced to combat each other.
Tsuki suddenly stopped, turning her head to look at the diabolical rodent.
“I mean no disrespect, Master, but Yuri isn’t my boyfriend...” She corrected him, a wide smile spreading over her face, turning back on happy mode in order to address her Master. “He’s just a good friend of mine... Wait, if he is a friend... why am I attacking him...?”
“Because I ordered you to.” Darkening replied, before commanding. “Now obey me and take Yuri down.”
From the command and the mental hold he still held over her, Tsuki was powerless to resist, once again attacking her former friend.
“Lunar Cannon!” She called, releasing a powerful blast of energy from her paws, which Pikachu managed to jump over, giving him a perfect line of attack.
But despite Pikachu managing a chance to attack, he couldn’t bring himself to harm his friend, but that didn’t mean he was going to hold back.
Jumping behind Tsuki, Yuri wrapped his arms around her, tightly restraining her, which made her shift around in his grasp, before she cast her whole being in energy, the actions of which made Yuri cry out as he was struck by the attack.
Darkening chuckled, observing the battle with the smuggest grin he could muster.“I do appreciate a lady who is both cute and strong.” He commented, swishing the drink in his paw, treating it like a glass of wine, continuing to enjoy the sight of Tsuki’s attack coursing around Yuri’s body, filling him with pain.
However, confusion fell upon Darkening as he saw Yuri’s paws grip tighter.
“Tsuki, Darkening might say he has control over you, but I know deep down you can hear me, that you want to fight back...” Yuri groaned, feeling Tsuki’s attack continuing to shock him, but ignored the pain as best he could as he declared. “And I won’t let go until I have you back!”
Tsuki’s ears twitched at hearing his voice and the determination that came with his words, causing her to stop her attack.
“Y... Yuri...?” She let out, trying to fight between her loyalty to Darkening and her loyalty to her friend.
“That’s right. Tsuki, it’s me. Keep fighting. Don’t let that spoiled pain tell you what to do.” Yuri said in reply, continuing to embrace Tsuki, continuing to hold her, believing that she could fight back and regain control over herself.
Upon hearing her friend’s words of encouragement, Tsuki allegiance towards Darkening faded way, allowing the rabbit to think more clearly with each passing second, the good thoughts and memories she shared with Yuri filling her mind, removing the mental hold over Tsuki’s head, to the point she was unable to take the conflicting pressure upon her and cried out for Yuri, just before losing consciousness and falling limp in his arms.
“You just can’t find good help these days!” Darkening growled, slamming his drink down on the table in a fit of rage at seeing somehow Yuri had managed to free Tsuki from his influence.
“Trust me, you are going to need all the help you can get once I am through with you.” Yuri said back, setting Tsuki down gently, before facing Darkening, charging his cheeks with electricity as he attacked, giving Darkening no time to defend himself as Yuri / released his electricity from his body, electrifying the rich Pikachu.
And though both were Electric-types, Darkening still felt a sudden pain fill his body from the sudden attack, which continued as Yuri got up close and used his fists and tail to beat up the villainous Pikachu that had wronged so many and had dared to mess with Tsuki.
After a swift Iron Tail, Darkening was struck down, crashing away from Yuri, where he groaned as he pulled himself up.
“You think you can just come here and defeat me?” Darkening questioned with a sudden burst of rage, his eyes filling up with his potent hypnotic power,, only to stop when he felt someone tap his shoulder.
Dropping his offensive, Darkening turned, expecting another of his servants to be bothering him about more annoyances, but what he saw made him gulp nervously, looking to see Tsuki had regained consciousness and was glaring at Darkening, cracking her knuckles and giving off a great and terrible hostile vibe.
“First you mess with me and my mind, but nobody messes with my friend.” She stated, pulling back her right arm, which shone with an intense light.
“Lunar Canon!!!” Tsuki then called with all her might, slamming her powered up fist right into Darkening’s face, the sheer power of the attack too much for Darkening to handle as it literally launched him into the air and sent him flying, leaving just a small sparkle in his place as he was blasted out of the sight of Yuri and Tsuki.
And while Tsuki brushed her hands clean, Yuri looked at her and commented. “Remind me never to make you mad again.”
“Remind yourself.” Tsuki said back, before smiling as she wrapped her arms around Yuri and said with sincerity. “But thank you for saving me.”
“Thank you for saving all of us.” Both heard a voice say, causing Yuri and Tsuki to look over to see all Darkening enslaved Pokemon standing around, no longer under the rich Pikachu’s control and all glad to be able to think clearly after so long.
“We apologize if any of us did anything to you while under Darkening’s control.” A Spinda apologized, before asking. “Can you forgive us?”
“I don’t see a reason why you have to apologize. It was Darkening’s fault that all this happened.” Yuri pointed out, which made Tsuki nod in agreement.
“Then would you two care to journey down our food district? I’m sure adventures such as you would enjoy all the foods our town has to offer.” A Hariyama dressed in an apron and chef’s hat offered with a kind voice, before saying. “And what you cannot finish, we can pack up as a snack. Think of this as our way of saying thank you for giving us back our town.”
“That’s very generous of you.” Tsuki said in reply, before some concern filled her as she faced the other Pokemon asked. “But what about Darkening? What about his commands?”
“It might take time, but so long as we aren’t exposed to what sets off the triggers, we should recover from it and no longer have to worry about Darkening’s hold remaining on any of us.” The Spinda said, grinning as it added. “And if it comes down to it, we can always count on one of our Psychic citizens to get the mental commands out of our brains.”
“”What about me? Yuri and I will be leaving this afternoon.” Tsuki then questioned, worried that she would wind up under Darkening’s power again.
“Until we are certain Darkening’s hold is completely gone, I promise to be there for you.” Yuri said, petting Tsuki’s back and giving off an assuring smile, his voice and continued kindness made Tsuki smile and nod in reply, feeling better and feeling confident in herself, as well as in her trusting friend.
