It's even worse when they turn them into a fucking cereal mascot-looking, toucan sam bitch. or draw the little mask spikeys as FUR.

everybody's got their own style and with cartoon characters, there's lots of room for interpretation(and misinterpretation) luckily there's so many artists these days that you can always find at least a couple pictures that depict the character how you think they really are :)
