Pidge knows Tirriss. She's a very prosaic griffin. As an aerial combat specialist, getting her talons dirty is just another day on the job, and she's a natural show-off. The idea of her being regal and dignified would have him absolutely howling.

There's a reason why the hanz that take the job of Observation and Intercept Rider (OIR) have a truism: "The mouth is bigger than the hanz." Tirriss allows Pidge liberties that probably would have gotten her grandfather's hanz's tail tied in a knot. One of many things that Tirriss, who worships the ground Harrell once walked on, doesn't really realize about her grandfather: He'd be absolutely horrified at the liberties that her hanz is allowed. Like ROTFLHAO. ^.^

She's a griffin the size of a Shire horse! Part birb, that much is true! (Heck, even mostly birb, considering the griffins of her world define themselves by their avian halves, not their cat halves).
