Realistically the abdomen makes them an easy target, but I like to think that it takes on either the effect of indestructible steel (where a bullet would ricochet off without even scratching the abdomen) or more fittingly elastic rubber (Where a bullet might be able to sink in only to be shot out the complete opposite direction).
