I was trying to find my muse, and I happened to draw some sort of weirdo Final Fantasy XIV inspired Final Fantasy VI nonsense.

for the uninitiated, FF14 has a nation called Doma. it suffered brutal subjugation under the empire for many years until Hien, the son of Doma's previous king, Kaien, worked with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn from Eorzea to reclaim the land from Garlemald.

This is an artist rendition of mine as to how I think lord Kaien would have looked, as he died before the events of Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood.


this probably makes more sense if you know that in the original Final Fantasy 6, several names had to be truncated or changed for localization or just because Hiragana takes less characters than romanized alphabet in text boxes. Cyan, for example, was Cayenne (like the hot sauce). naturally, that also can sound like Kaien.
