Just Strega doing a little zero G maintenance training during her military days. Her species isn't the best at fine manipulation but having six usable (if thick fingered) "hands" does come in useful sometimes.
This is another older pic I found while doing some folder sorting yesterday. I forget which con I drew this at.

The green orbs are miniature power generators, they appear in a lot of my high tech drawings. They power her harness and it in turn projects a conformal force field which is kept full of air. So despite appearances she is wearing a spacesuit - of the emergency variety that any crewman carries around as part of their uniform, but a spacesuit nevertheless.
The best thing (for me) about this is that, since there's nothing around her for accurate size comparison, were I not already familiar with the character, I might have mistaken her for being cat-sized and filled this comment with remarks about wanting to put her in my lap and rub her belly.
And you know what? Even though, in the back of my mind, I know exactly how that would really play out, I'd still be tempted to give it a try.

Design-for-maintenance must be an interesting concept in the Stregaverse. If you have hexapod engineers, and you don't specifically train them on it, they might design something that literally needs four hands to take apart and put back together... and then deploy it to somewhere that only has a single tetrapod maintenance critter. :)
Strega's species was originally made up because there is a DS9 episode where the maintenance crew spends the whole time crawling around the Jeffries tubes hunting alien rats that are chewing on the wiring. I said "Why make people crawl around on hands and knees when you could hire a feral race?" I took a wolverine, stretched it, added a middle set of legs to make it more alien and that's how it all started. 83
I've always thought opossums would be great for this type of stuff too. They have "thumbs" on their hind "feet" so they can grasp and manipulate with all four, and of course their tail can grip things too!
Also, opossums have a pretty slow metabolism, which would be good in a situation where you only have so much oxygen with you.
