unlike all the other ones, Connie here is still a kid, but this one isn't naughty in any way.

Knowing that Connie was working on a science project, Luanne asked Connie to take a look at a funny looking mushroom growing in her basement, Connie had never seen anything like it before in books or on the web and is pretty sure its an entirely new species of fungus, the kind of discovery that could help jump start a career in science! while luanne just wanted the gross thing out of her house. All changed when Luanne poked it and set off its spores which filled the room and their lungs, suddenly their heads felt all fuzzy inside as they stood there staring into the distance for twenty minutes as the spores began taking root into their brains.

When the dust finally settled, Luanne and Connie had new ambitions as the spores had altered their minds and bodies, they craved an environment to grow in but Connie still being the smart one suggested they needed a place where they would go undisturbed, the two set off to an old house that was on sale in the market until the housing market took a dive and the place has been unsalable since. They head down together into the basement, Luanne filling it up full of food while Connie prepares a fake wall with extra matching wallpaper, once all the supply were in, they closed the fake wall behind them, sealing up in a way that you could never tell there was a door there and locked the door for good measure, now they were alone in the basement, they could finally begin.

Plugging in a humidifier they filled the room with damp hot water for the spores inside their bodies to grow, from they they spent the days standing and waiting as weeks went on and their bodies gradually changed, but their bodies still needed sustenance so they did have months worth of food stored up as well as a hole to....."fertilize the soil" so to speak as they stood their keeping each other company as the weeks turned into months and they both continued to change.

On the outside world, they were both reported missing, presumed kidnapped; at one point people searched the house thinking maybe they ran away, but thanks to Connie's clever fake wall they came and went while they continued to grow in the basement as their bodies at this point were no longer human or technically even living, they were now both reduced to motionless giant mushrooms with their clothing all ragged and moldy and practically disintegrating off them showing their no longer human forms, especially Connie. Though they were now inanimate objects on the outside, the two were still alive inside as their shared mushroom hive mind echoed each others thoughts and desires to grow and expand further and further too other humans as their tiny basement world continued to grow and fill with their fungal offspring.

After a year and a half of being missing, the house they held up in suddenly exploded with a rush of green spores rushing out the windows and chimney as everyone in the neighborhood of Rainy Street became infected before they had any clue what was happening. Their minds and bodies were altered having seen the light of the mushroom cause as hundreds of people began stock piling their food and boarding up their homes and dampening it all up to allow mold to grow within their self made prisons so like Luanne and Connie they too can grow in peace as the Mushroom mutation cycle began a new and with the general public unaware what was growing next door, continued their business unaware what was going on next door as countless people now stand motionless in their basements covered in mold clothes and looking less human by the day.

It's only a matter of time before humanity's place in the world is pushed aside, and the will of the mushroom hive mind reigns supreme, and at the upper echelon of that hierarchy within the hive mind resigns Luanne and Connie, having grown more then three times their original height and producing spores in greater quantity then ever before as the two Mushroom Queens are praised within the hive mind by their now extended mushroom family of neighbors, friends and even their original family, as everyone now doesn't look at things in equality, all serve the greater good of the Mushroom Hive Mind........all for science. the end
