Cas is a hermaphroditic lion. He is also called a dual-gender, being both male and female but slightly more male, thus referred to as 'he' as he sounds male and smells a little more male. His mane never grows more than what you see here, and he only grows the size of the average lioness, so he's nothing very big.

His story is not a happy one either. Cas is born into what's called a 'wild pride' a pride that lives by the old ways and not like the kingdoms. Leaders come and go, cubs are killed by the new males, and that sort of thing. Cas's world is thrown into chaos when his father and his 'mate' are overthrown and killed. He hides his two young cubs, but his own mother, who has lived through all this before, gives their location to the new males.

Desperate to keep his cubs, Cas agrees to mate with the new males for their lives, but once he's pregnant his cubs are slaughtered anyway. His sister then helps him flee the pride, and Cas runs and never looks back, searching for a better life.
