This here is something I was inspired to do and help keep track of my D&D sessions progress through the story. Koppu took it on himself to write a journal to help him keep track of his adventures. I really hope you all enjoy it! Just know that it will be written in Koppu's mannerisms. Feedback is more than welcome!

Day 1

Koppu suppose to start with Koppu introduce himself to journal, so journal knows Koppu is! Koppu is a portly Kobold, being the food bringer of brood they kept koppu quite well fed! Koppu stand about one big rock tall and about as big as a medium sized rock wide! Koppus scales are blue grey it seems, as Koppu learned those are the colors and Koppus eyes a pale blue! Koppu seem to waddle just a bit as Koppu walk, but Koppu have a lot of heft! Koppu appreciate it!

Now journal know Koppu, Koppu can now tell you why Koppu write it! Fang, tall gnoll friend, said it good way to practice tall man speech as well as keep track of Koppu’s adventures. Koppu no like writing tall man speech so Koppu gonna write in what Koppu most used to, language of Dragons! Koppu have a plan on having dog friend translate later, he smart and carry a book so Koppu think it good idea!

Day start as any other day, long before dreaded sky ball rises and sheds its dastardly light onto the land. Koppu decided to head to the adventurer’s guild after tip saying that where Koppu learn about the circles that steal Koppu’s home away. It surrounded by odd flowers and whenever Koppu get close he blackout and wake up with scrapes and bruises, it no good. When reaching the guild, it was so huge and filled with so many different peoples! There were cat people (Tabaxi), tall horseman (Centaurs), and a bird man (Aarakocra) selling weird paper things. Meeting with one of those tall horsemen he give Koppu pictures of friends who will travel with Koppu! Fang was one of them, tall and brave and strong! And dog wizard friend, Sunnytoe I think his name be, as well as big blue bird who I yet met. She late it seems, but hopefully bird friend will meet up later.

Once everyone here, Koppu couldn’t help but smell delicious food coming to tall wooden shelf nearby. It filled with many spiced meats and foods, Koppu’s mouth water so much he wanted some. It didn’t come to ours though, Koppu was sad. Fang however suggest we go get job, and get our own food! Fang resourceful, fang good gnoll, Koppu agreed immediately. So Sunnytoe and fang, with Koppu of course, go up to tall horse man and he gave us job to do. Go find flowers and bring them back, easy job no doubt but will help! Flowers were very familiar to Koppu, same flowers found where home was, so Koppu knew what we were dealing with. Koppu just hoped that dreaded sky ball wouldn’t rise before we got there.

Travel was boring, sky ball high in sky when get there, but Koppu use shadow Fang had to hide from it. Tall trees soon blocked the terrible light and Koppu could walk without hiding anymore. He hop between trees shadows to avoid bright light. Fang found weird tracks on ground, he said they look weird and that it could have been made by ghosts. Koppu confused by this, curious how ghosts make tracks so Koppu generously explained that that couldn’t be and that it was a beast of some kind! Koppu always been nice, always looking for ways to help! Soon we found flowers, Sunnytoe found first though because he resourceful. Fang was cautious, like true kobold should be, but Koppu wanted to get flower to bring back like asked. Sunnytoe tie rope around Koppus ankle, it felt weird but Koppu knew he mean well, and went to retrieve flower. Koppu got that flower, yes he did, he did a really good job! Then, like before, everything goes black.

Koppu wake soon, it seem Koppu sleep for whole day this time since terrible sky ball no longer high in sky but instead rising again. Koppu woke up in piles of mushrooms, which excited Koppu! Koppu can use mushrooms in food, so Koppu gather many of them. Brown and Colored, really excited to cook later or taste. Fang soon call us over, said to get on guard, something come. Fang right, weird beings with skin over eyes came. Their noses flared, ears twitched, they listen and smell but don’t see. Koppu was afraid, did not like that one bit nope, so he did what all kobold do. He make sure Sunnytoe healthy with delicious juice before going to hide behind Fang! Koppu heard an odd noise from south, but saw no one. Sunnytoe though doing some weird gestures, must have been him who did it, but it distracted the odd creatures! One went over and smashed his club on rock, the other throwing a rock in that direction. Koppu started to feel more confident, that we could win! Koppu then watch as Fang go and kill one of the creatures, filled with blood and courage he charged the other one but tripped on a rock and fell over. Koppu snorted a bit, but felt fire in his belly and shot the other one with crossbow! Pierced shoulder it did, hit really hard! Sunnytoe finish it off with magic, he magic fire in a dart and tossed it! We won, we did it! Koppu went and helped Fang up and collected some meat off the creatures. More come though, felt in ground, we needed to leave so Koppu did a resourceful! Koppu take twine from supplies and made a tripping trap, and we went down the road.

Fang wanted to eat gross rations on the way down the road, shrouded by trees to Koppu’s delight, but Koppu couldn’t let him. Rations gross, Koppu not stand for such thing. Koppu promise to make good meal when he can, Koppu really good cook! Soon heard flapping in air! Looking up, Koppu saw the bird men from earlier! Fang got ready for a fight, but nothing happen but a packet from the sky fell right in front of us! Koppu went and read it, Koppu good at reading! Koppu learn that Guild of Dew disappeared, and that Fae Circles and Shadow Gates are to blame. Koppu also smell lamb stew in the air towards the way we go, urging Fang who wanted to go back to the mountain towards food he complied and we went!

The road opened to a town! Koppu knew it safe, proud Koppu know to follow nose and gut! Many thing happen here in town, but Koppu not go into full detail so Koppu do best to summarize! We found rose bush, cat child burst out and scare Koppu but Koppu got rose to make rosewater. Child wanted something made for him, so Koppu make him something. Iced Cream maybe! Then Sunnytoe went off on his own as Koppu followed Fang. We avoided bushes and went down to the water, Sunnytoe joining us after a bit. Not much happen here, but Fang caught GIANT gold fish! It as big as Koppu! Koppu excited to make later, put into Koppu’s cook bag. Then we go to inn, strait there we went! It really crowded though, Koppu almost get trampled a couple of times. Fang came and put Koppu above the crowd, it was scary being tall. Koppu though finally got to ask to go cook! Koppu smiled as he brought back to Kitchen, Kitchen was GIGANTIC like the cook! Bigger than dragons den it must have been, with man as big as dragon! Koppu was afraid at first, but Koppu had fire in his belly and Koppu help friendly animal people cook good deal of meals! Once done, Koppu really tired but Koppu did get to eat some of what he cook. It all really good, really flavorful! Lamb stew with a side of Duck egg and spinach salad topped with raspberries. Koppu need to put recipe into cookbook. Koppu end the day by cooking good meal for friends of Giant Goldfish. It was really delicious, Koppu pass out on wood tall food shelf after.

How to prepare Giant Goldfish:
What you will need:
1 Giant Goldfish
1 Lemon
Butter
Salt
Pepper
1 Sprig Rosemary
Thyme
1 Clove Garlic, Crushed
Instructions on how to cook:
Fillet Giant Goldfish into reasonable portions and debone.
Slice half lemon into slices, keep half for juice.
Get pan hot, put butter in till melted add in Rosemary, Thyme, Garlic, and the juice of half a lemon. Saute till fragrant
Season fish fillets with salt and pepper
Place fillets into pan, sear and braise with lemon juice, rosemary, thyme. Drizzling butter mixture over fish. Cook till fish is fully cooked, turning only when skin of fish is seared and crisp.
Serve seared side up with a lemon wheel and a fresh garden salad tossed in simple lemon vinaigrette.
