My family's dog Richter is in dire need of help. Without any financial help we will have to euthanize him.
EDIT 3.4.2019
Richter has had a second round of ultrasound and blood testing. His ultrasound, not done by a ultrasound specialist, has signs of possible tumor lesions. His blood test showed a difference is white and red blood cells, which was also tested on Saturday. His red blood cell count has dropped and his white blood cell count high. There's suspicion that a Splenectomy is still in the picture but a cancerous liver is now apart of the situation possibly. We have requested an ultrasound specialist to examine him to see what the findings read. If we find it is a cancer in the liver, euthanasia......
STORY
Saturday March 2, our beloved family dog Richter, 7 years old, was emitted to Emergency Care after a series of violent vomiting and low heart rate.
After examination the vet confirmed his spleen needed removal, resulting in a Splenectomy. Without treatment the condition is fatal.
Richter was quickly transported to BluePearl Animal Hospital. Due to financial limitations, the doctor at BluePearl could not work on Richter for more thorough examination or testing.
He was transported and is now under care at Kinslow Vet Clinic and has been temporarily treated with Sub-Q Fluids for hydration, Buprenorphine, and Cerinia for pain and nausea.
We fear because of him refusing to eat that his organs will shut down, so liquid feeding may be in the future.
CURRENTLY
Richter is still in a lot of pain and discomfort. The medication doesn't seem to be helping his appetite. He hasn't eaten a meal in three days, only the amount of one chicken nugget (he's on a chicken and rice diet for a week). He's responsive, and when given pain killers, he's unable to make decisions for himself so we are having to assist him in daily functions.
We desperately need financial help to pay for the surgery, emergency fees, and after care of Richter. If we can not pay for the potential surgery and this condition requires it, Richter will be euthanized. Please help us....
CURRENT BILLING
So far we are standing at $1,085. We're having to borrow money in order to find what is wrong with him. The surgery in itself is going to cost $1,500 more and that's before we charge for special medication, food, and after care costs. I've increased the goal from $2,000 to $4,000 due to needing specialist's to come in and care for him. If it turns out his liver is cancerous we will unfortunately have to euthanize him. Right now we can't afford much more, even for euthanasia. The situation is becoming more complicated and our bills keep stacking.
Any donations are extremely appreciated.
