This is my entry for
poetigress's Thursday Prompt of November 19th, 2009.
Luckily I managed to do this one and also to upload it, since my heap of shit computer decided to break down just last Thursday. Fortunately my dad had an old laptop with wireless adapter he let me borrow for the time being, so I can at least get online.
So, here we go, another story featuring our popular Mara Peterson and Celeste Monroe =~.^=
Enjoy the read, and as always, comments are welcome!
And also as usual;
Mara Peterson is © me
Celeste Monroe is also © me

Thank you, dear, I'm really glad you enjoy my stories, it makes me happy to know I can make people smile with them =^_^=
*winks*
And thank you for faving it, too; I won't shout that on your user page every week so I don't spam your page with thank-yous =~.^=

*chuckles*
Well, I don't mind at all if you sound too complimentous, really... =~.^=
I'm glad to know you enjoyed the Easter story as well. Hee hee, and I know, yeh... there are people who do still comment on very old submissions of mine (like the photo of my kitty Venus, for instance), but ah well...
*giggles and winks*
And you didn't recognize the prank? Well, it did come from a very old comic book...one from a good number of years ago in the series of Jan, Jans & de kinderen =~.^=

Hee hee! Yes, we have the whole series; even now we still buy the newest ones! They're just such nice books =^_^=
*giggles and shakes her head*
Hahaha! That's a good one too! Mmm, and I like soft-boiled eggs... I like'em better than hardboiled ones, although admittedly, hardboiled eggs are very nice for on a sandwich =~.^=

Heheh, just got around to reading this one, Zin. I think you did an awesome job with it, you KNEW that something crazy was going to happen (as if THAT's a surprise with those two) but seeing it from one side while the character didn't know... Heheh, made it all the more awesome. The line that REALLY set the whole story up was the "just you wait!" bit.
I don't think I've seen one of your stories that I don't like, though. XD

Hee hee, thank you, dear! I'm really glad you enjoyed this little read! And yeh, Celeste has this special manner of being predictable in that something weird will ensue once she gets her mind set on something... and that she's totally unpredictable in whatever weirdness she might think up! =~.^=
Indeed! Sometimes you just can't help but smile when you're writing a character. That's perhaps why my stories have so much random banter between characters in them. Both breaks up the action and tension a bit, and builds characters up well. :) Plus, gives me a break from writing the rough and deadly characters for a while. Almost all my characters have a humorous side to them in one way or another. :)
Eh, plus it keeps you from falling into the horrible cliches for the most part. There are WAY too many stories composed of entirely casts of badasses. Makes for a rather good action SECTION of a story, or for the typical single character, but you need the amusing sidekick or something like that to keep it from getting too over-the-top. :)

Ah yes, I like rainy days as well, but I have to admit, after more than a week of nothing but rainy days, one's inspiration in thinking of things to do can run quite low... especially if that one is someone as energetic and fickle and zealous as Celeste! =~.^=

"Wow, I think I'm still asleep and dreaming. It can't be real that I just now heard Celeste Monroe, terror of the neighborhood and queen of the unexpected surprises, say that she can't think of anything fun to do."
I had the clearest vision when I read that part I emphasized in bold in the quote.
"Dear, what are you doing at the window? Sit down, dinner is ready."
"..."
"Dear?"
"...it's that white cat at neighbor's again."
"Oh? Celeste, you mean?"
"...she took that race car out of the garage again."
"Let me have a look."
"...she's opening the hood again."
"..."
"..."
"I'll fetch the earplugs, dear."
Yeah... Anyway, enjoyed reading this a lot. It made me smile. Great work.

Ah ha ha! Oh my, that's so hilarious! Yes, I could definitely imagine how some of the neighbors would have conversations with one another like that at the sight of Celeste playing around! =^_^=
Thank you for the comment, and I'm really glad you enjoyed the story so much! =^_^=
