The next pony that I’ve drawn is one of my favorites: Rainbow Dash. :) Rainbow Dash is the fastest flyer in all of Equestria, and perhaps the only pegasus to successful perform the fabled Sonic Rainboom. Although she can be very competitive, and has a tendency to get herself into trouble while showing off, Rainbow Dash is a true friend. She’ll always stick by her friends, and won’t let anything stop her from being there for them when they need her. Rainbow Dashes faith and loyalty to her friends embodies the Element of Loyalty.

This was perhaps the most difficult pony drawing I’ve done yet. It took forever for me to draw a picture of Rainbow Dash that I was actually happy with. Among the challenges this picture presented were the shape of her mane (which took me more tries than I could keep track of to get even close to right) and what do for the background. With my other pony drawings like this, I’ve designed the background based either on something that’s associated with that character, or something that says something about the character. Naturally, a rainbow was the first thing that came to mind, but that wasn’t enough. I wanted something that really related to her, and since Rainbow Dash is most in her element when she’s flying, I settled on a sky and cloud theme, adding in a rainbow for some extra flare. In total, this picture took over a week to finish, and I can honestly say that I’m very proud of how this turned out. :)
