This is an extremely sentimental artwork for me. If you had been paying attention to the news back in October 2018,
there was a memo that was floating around the government that was talking about redefining the definition of gender
that would basically make transgender... well... non-existent. Erased. Just a need for a bunch of crusty old white men
to sweep us under the rug in hopes that we would just go away. It was a weird tough time and I think I was mostly
dissociating for most of it, but if there's anything that taught me during that is how well supported we actually are by
the public, by our friends, and by our loved ones. Night made sure to remind me of that with this beautiful piece. 💙
Thank you babe, this still means a lot and still something I find myself looking back on whenever I needed the
reminder. To anyone who doesn't quite fall under the cis-umbrella, you are valid in who you are. We won't ever stop
fighting for our basic human rights. We got this.
