I was going to say mid 50s Ford pickup... They had the big rounded fenders. The early 60s were more boxy and used some of the same badges as the older trucks.

...and gas was so cheap it didn't matter if the truck got only 8 miles per gallon.

I recall regular being .27Cents a gallon... of course minimum wage was $1.00/hr.
