5 carbon fiber hooves.

I got 5 so far and one more curing as I type. They're still rough around the edges since I haven't trimmed them yet. But they're incredibly strong. I tested the strength myself by standing on one.

Sounds cool. (= How much would you charge for a pair? I'm working on some faun legs for a LARP and I need me some good hooves that stand up to the outdoors.

Sorry, their not for sale or commission. They're uber expensive to make, Id estimate about $60-$80 each for just the material.

Hmm, that's a bummer. You should reconsider selling them though. Even at those prices, they'd be worth it.

Thats an interesting idea, but I'd have to sell them for $200 a pair when I figure in the labor it took to make them. I don't know many furs who can drop that kinda money on hooves.

thats only 40-60 for labor. and i've seen people drop 4k on a suit. *giggles* i say offer to sell them but don't make them until you get an order with payment at LEAST for suplplies.

*noddles a bit* and if they pay you for the material then decide to not pay for the labor you can deny them the product and count it as practice. *giggles*

No, its a 4-ply wet lay-up with epoxy and carbon-fiber cloth.

Huh. I never knew it was possibly to fashion carbon fiber; I always assumed it had to be poured from liquid into a mould at factory level.

Heh, last week, there were some real hooves that spilled out of a box; they were meant as doggie treats.

Definitely didn't look as cool as those.

Errr. No theyre not for sale... Simply because they're too time consuming and expensive to make. There is some interest about them and if I see there's enough interest, I may do a small production run and they'd be about $200 for a pair.
