Reference sheet and fursona character design for my wonderful boyfriend! Finished this up a little while back, but it took me some time to catch up my gallery on here. Viin is a melanistic jaguar with some purple tones. I was super happy with how this came out, he looks and feels soooooo much like my boyfriend. The salt and pepper whiskers are one of my absolute favorite thing about his design tbh.
One of my absolute favorite things to do/draw is animal/anthro characters based off of people, and incorporating their real life body type, facial features, and little quirks they have to effectively make a really accurate animal caricature of a person. It's super fun and satisfying!
I super fell out of the rhythm of uploading here in lieu of Twitter and Instagram, but figure it would be good to maintain gallery space here and I'm almost up to speed! That's so funny, they could totally look related! we definitely have some similar aesthetic choices, I LOVE the whole dark socks and the white fingers look! (I use it so much lmfao, my fursonas got those fingerless gloves and toes look, its just so appealing!)
I love how they both have which dark hair and big eyebrows, too, does your boyfriend happen to be Persian per chance?
I love the choice of design/stylization of the stripes on your s/o's character!

great minds think alike! I saw lots of photos of jaguars with like darker areas around their tear ducts that would go down their face a little (mostly slightly darker fur or just a larger concentration of little spots. or just like, the dreaded animal eye crusties and bogies that dye their fur all dark that I see on so many Maltese looking little fluffy dogs) and I took it as an excuse to be like "uuuuhhhhh jaguars can have cheetah face stripes right?).
lol one of my parents friends said my bf looked Italian and I was like. uuuuh, if someone having dark thick hair and sorta olive skin makes them Italian? XD
