La Sirene, aka Mama Wati, Loa of the seas, healing and calm. Sacred colors are sea green, ocean blue. Sacred materials are pearls and diamonds. Veve represents the sea and the life therein. Sacred items are sea salt and white rum. Free-hand piece that follows the standards of the traditional Veve, but with flourishes added for aesthetic appeal.

As always, the piece was handled with respect and properly crafted according to appropriate rites and rituals. This is only the second one I've done in the last few years, but it feels good to get back into things. The flourishes, accompanying the base Veve structure, really give this one a sense of life. It's almost like staring at a sea creature as it approaches. Fitting, really.

Medium of this piece is black canvas with sea foam green and deep ocean blue acrylics, dusted with "ground pearl" and "diamond dust" glitter, which glows in the dark. Imbued and anointed with white rum, sea salt and a touch of essential salts from the painter (Sweat, tears or blood are the norm; in this case a couple of drops of sweat.)

This piece was done as a personal, home Veve. Not sure where I'll hang this one, to be honest.
