It's Ralyn Talford, a town guard that patrols parts of Tarrenwood on his daily routine. Most of the time, he's hired to help guard the astate of Lady Catherine Irons. It's rumored that Catherine's grown niece Tessa, who is a talented mage at the Academy, has a crush on Ralyn, but he's smitten for Erin, the dancing girl who performs at The Spitfire.

The Talford family trade is smithing and seamstress work, so Ralyn has learned to be able to repair his own weapons if needed. He has several brothers and sisters, and even a niece and nephew. While his brothers are largely in the family trade, one of Ralyn's brothers is also a town guard. Rumor is that his youngest sister is a thief, but only they know for sure.
