Grim was in need of a new reference sheet, since I've made a few noticeable changes to his design and story. The glasses, whisker dots, and tufted ears are all new, and he got a new casual outfit. I also removed his scar because, although I did like it, I liked the whisker dots better and thought including them both made his face look too cluttered. I also nixed the part of his story with the graveyard and the multiple ravens he cares for, and instead made him travel in a caravan with Corvin as his only raven companion. I've added a lot more to his backstory (though I never fully revealed the original version, so that won't mean much to you guys). I really like the way he looks now, and am extremely happy that now I can finally commission people to draw him again.
Character Overview
Name: Ridley Thomas Avery. "Grim" is the stage name he picked when he first started practicing illusionism, and continues to be the name most wolves know him by. However, those who have been closest to him have always called him Ridley.
Other Names: The White Ghost, The White Demon, and several more variations of those two.
Species: Gray wolf
Sex: Male
Sexuality: Asexual. He will flirt shamelessly if the need arises, but finds the whole concept of sex really gross and hard to understand. Like: “People actually DO that? That sounds extremely unsanitary.”
Age: 21 (this is an animal fantasy story where the wolves are basically stand-ins for humans, so they have human lifespans).
Birthday: October 24th
Height: Exceptionally tall. He stands about a head higher than your average male wolf.
Build: Thin and gangly, with disproportionately long legs and large paws.
Distinct Features: Grim has a fairly long, shaggy coat, with fluffy cheeks, long fur on his neck, tufted ears, fluff along his muzzle, and a prominent hair tuft which clumps together and curves upwards at the tip, forming that little semi-quiff. Being albino, his claws and paws pads are pink rather than black, and his pupils are red instead of black. The color of his eyebrows and mouth is (obviously) an exaggeration employed to make them easier to see. If drawn realistically, the edges of his mouth would be pink, as would the skin around his eyes, and, of course, he wouldn't have eyebrows.
Medical Conditions: Albinism and, as a result, severe astigmatism (blurred vision). Grim must always wear glasses, or he is rendered effectively blind. Along with this, he also suffers from photophobia (extreme sensitivity to bright light) and a tendency to sunburn severely as a result of his albinism. Because of this, he typically avoids going out during the day.
Accessories: When performing he wears a pinstripe tailcoat, top hat with curved sides which covers one of his ears, and a pair of red-tinted goggles to protect his eyes from the bright light of the pyrotechnics he's incorporated into his act. For casual attire, he sometimes wears a baggy black jacket which, in comparison to his crisp, fitted tailcoat, is overly large and sort of hangs off his body. Unlike his formal attire, which is designed to be a bit showy, he uses this jacket when he wants to blend in and draw less attention to himself. He can also wear the goggles with this outfit (if out during the day he would almost certainly be wearing them to protect his eyes) as well as independently. The goggles are double-layered with glass that will allow him to see and protect his eyes.
Mother: Anna Avery
Father: Cassius Gray
Grandfather (maternal): Xavier Avery
Grandmother (maternal): Evelyn Avery (deceased)
Best Friend: Corvin, a male common raven who was saved and nursed back to health by Grim after being attacked and left for dead by an cruel group of adolescent wolves. He’s been unquestioningly loyal to Grim ever since, and the two are rarely ever apart from each other. Although Corvin can’t speak Grim’s language, he seems to understand everything the wolf says, and uses noises and body language to get his point across to him.
Residence: Grim is constantly traveling, bringing his shows to all different towns and capitalizing on the citizens fear and fascination with him. He owns an ornamental caravan pulled by two great black horses, and this serves as both his mode of transportation and his place of residence.
Talents: Grim is extremely intelligent and can pick up on things very quickly. Because of this, he’s developed a wide range of abilities over the years. His primary talent is undoubtedly his skill as an illusionist, which has allowed him to make a living in a world which harbors an irrational fear of him. He’s learned everything from simple sleight of hand to advanced pyrotechnics to entertain the crowd, but also has a special affinity for card tricks. He’s also taken to tinkering with and even inventing various gadgets, which very often come into play during his act. He’s a bit of a kleptomaniac, thrilling in his ability to sneak everything from money to valuable objects right out from another wolf’s nose. He sometimes even takes things he has no real need for, only to return them the very next day. Sometimes he’s just more interested in the entertainment value of stealing things than actually having them in his possession. Although not physically powerful, he's surprisingly agile, flexible, and able to leap long distances. This comes from years of nighttime rooftop hopping, which is his preferred method to explore cities. Grim also has a beautiful singing voice, which he rarely uses, but does sometimes break out in times of stress or sadness. Those who hear the haunting melodies are further convinced that there is something otherworldly about the mysterious wolf who drifts through their towns.
Occupation: Skilled illusionist and pickpocket.
Personality: Grim is an intelligent, adaptable, quick-witted, and exceptionally intuitive wolf, with the ability to read almost anyone like a book. Years of abuse and rejection by society has forced him to develop a frightening and manipulative persona, which allows him to survive a world that believes him to be a walking curse because of his albinism. Grim possesses a level of cunning that allows him to get almost anything from anyone, and also means he's a wolf you really don't want to cross. A life of being tormented for his appearance has made him slow to trust and instilled in him a need to always be in control of a situation. He maintains this by assessing people's weaknesses, whether they be fear, greed, or anger, and using those to manipulate them. The townsfolks' fear of him combined with his knack for disappearing means he can get away with just about anything, and the police won't have the nerve to retaliate. Yet with all that said, Grim is more anti-hero than villain. He feels things deeply and has a strong sense of right and wrong (though his definitions may occupy a bit of a moral gray zone). He'll torment someone to insanity for causing the deaths of those he loved, but then turn around and save an innocent wolf from being mugged. He'll steal from the wealthy without batting an eye, but also leave money on the doorsteps of the poor. He's sharp-tongued and quick to speak his mind, but would never say a cruel word to a pup. His heart is bigger than he cares to admit, and there are many wolves who don't realize that the ghostly magician who terrifies them is the same wolf who left food on their doorstep when they were going hungry. Among those he cares about (most of whom he's lost) he's clever, has a witty, sarcastic sense of humor, and is incredibly enthusiastic about the things that interest him. He loves to read, go hopping across rooftops, and take things apart to see how they work (with varying degrees of success with putting them back together). He's definitely the kind of person who gets bored without something to keep his mind occupied, and has a lot of nervous habits, such a tapping his claws, fiddling with his hair tuft, or humming. He occasionally sings to himself in times of great stress or sadness, and takes a lot of comfort in cuddles from his raven friend, Corvin, who serves as his one and only companion. Although he expresses contempt towards the townspeople for being easily wowed by his tricks and feels no guilt in picking their pockets, he secretly gets a lot of satisfaction from performing, as if that somehow represents a form of acceptance on their part. Deep down he really does just want to be accepted and loved for who he is, but doesn't have much hope that, that will ever happen.

Other Notes
Grim lives in a sort of Victorian-esque world where wolves are basically the equivalent of humans.
The world in which Grim lives is highly superstitious and albinos (referred to as "pallids") like Grim are considered a curse, a reflection of some sin their family has committed. Because of this, wolves like Grim are universally hated and very often driven away from places they try to settle.
