Figured I should throw together a microscopic little tutorial for the bare basics of how to use the models I've been uploading.
RED: The shape keys. They go from 0 to 1. Mix and match all you like, but I can't guarantee every single mix will look good. Try 0.2 of one thing, 0.5 of another and 1.0 of something else!
(NOTE: if the shape key box is empty, you need to select the Lopunny's body. Not the rig- her body. You want that glowing outline around her.)
GREEN: These are the little boxes that the knees and elbows point at. Just move them wherever; if a leg decides to flip 180 degrees all of a sudden, blame these boxes and move them.
BLUE: This is the dropdown that picks how everything looks on your screen. You probably want it on Material. Rendered view is nice, but it'll choke most computers when the window is this big.
IMPORTANT KEYS:
G to move things.
R to rotate things.
Hit R twice to enter "trackball mode", another way to rotate things.
Numpad keys control your view's angle, play around with it.
Numpad 0 puts you in the view of the camera.
F12 to render whatever your camera is looking at. Make sure to use the NUM-0 key to figure out where it's pointing. (THIS WILL BE SLOW ON MOST COMPUTERS)
(At some point, I'll make another one of these to explain how to change clothing colors, or change their faces.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Fave/comment if you like it.)
(Comment if it's not good enough, or if there's something wrong, like something looks bad or you see a glitch.)
(Heck, just comment anyway, even if you got here by "accident" and can't help but stay long enough for an "oh gross, IS THIS A FETISH??????" post.)
(I run some tip jars, toss me a buck or three if you want to help with future computer repairs and upgrades, I keep the current budget counter on the Patreon page, if you're curious.)
From my experience, they generally have an easier interface to learn but lack a lot of functions that blender either has built in or has small addons for.
3DSMax, for example, has a bunch of cool addons made for it, but they're usually entirely new applications that have been stuck on or plugged in. The features tend to be very deep and complex as you'd need them to be, but it just makes it more costly and taxing to run 3DSMax.
