TBH its not really the most exiting story, but here it goes xD
It was pretty much me around the age of 10, channel surfing after school and I happened to come across an episode of pokemon, I donr remember which one it was, but it was about halfway over by the time I had started watching it. Well I was already curious then, and when it was over, the credits were pretty much just the opening with...the credits xD So I was watching it and they had a part where Ash is running and an Arcanine was next to him. Me being me I saw BIG PUPPER=INSTANT LOVE. Thus I was trying to find more about this show however I could, which wasnt much help given that back then the only way to really get on the internet was at school in the library xD But...thats actually how I ended up meeting my (then) best friend at the time. She was already really into pokemon and apparently thought I was making fun of her when I asked her about it- but quickly showed that I was actually very interested in it xD We hit it off well enough, and it took some more time to actually have to scour the pokedex but once I found Arcanine I had the 'love of my life' so to speak. Of course at the time there was so little pokemon merchandise- or rather anything that wasnt pikachu/starters. All I had for the longest time were a few cards, 1 figure, and a dog tag. I got Pokemon Red for Christmas that year, and pretty much got a growlithe asap, and Arcanine became a staple on my team, and for the most part still is! Granted there are some finer details missing out here, but this is the gist of it!
While eevee has such taken over the spotlight of my fav (which in a way is a funny story and actually on accident!) I still hold a very special fondness for this big fluffy pupper, because it wasnt for this mon, I dont think I would have gotten quite as hooked as I did!
