aww so this was the ultimate plan... I came in when you started coloring... putting blue in there, but I don't see it now. What happened to it? (I'm curious as I had to leave soon after joining the stream >.<)

The blue was most likely from the Select tool found in Paint Tool SAI, which allows you to 'color' a region that you want to color a specific color, and only effects that area. I think you are supposed to do that on different layers, but I honestly don't know since I don't use that function. ^^;

Hope this was somewhat helpful, and that Nyoko will better explain this when she can ^^;

You are most likely to be correct. The blue 'mask' helps you see what you selected and didn't select, incase you missed anything. It's far more useful than Photoshop wand selection tool that's for sure. And also, you SHOULD use this tool, it makes for faster colouring and is very useful :D!

Its a tool called "selpen" or something like that in Painter SAI. its just a type of selection tool. I can color something, like her hair, and the blue shows me where i have selected so far, and then I can color only inside where i have selected. Its really useful. Tifreak and Lilyness explained it just as well :3

ohhh, looks more tedious than my method, but probably less space used on the HDD. I keep everything on seperate layers, so I can change the colors in a flash if need be, but ya, I'll have to give that masking a try, thanks X3
